Lea Michele Ready to Join New Year’s Eve Movie

With Dianna Agron in I Am Number Four and Cory Monteith in Selena Gomez’s upcoming movie Monte Carlo, it was only a matter of time before Glee’s other breakout star, Lea Michele, signed onto a movie of her own.

According to E! Online, Lea’s choice is New Year’s Eve, the follow-up to this year’s Valentine’s Day.  Like that movie, it will be a star-studded ensemble comedy and word is the producers are also going after Zac Efron for a role.

Not a bad choice — a supporting role in a guaranteed hit could be a good way to get bigger movie roles in the future.

The $2 Million Question: Bra or Cake?

Earlier this week, Gossip Cop reported that a restaurateur planned to give Kim Kardashian a jewel-encrusted birthday cake valued at nearly $2 million tonight — although Kardashian herself hadn’t asked for it.

Meanwhile, Victoria’s Secret unveiled its own $2 million stunner: a diamond-studded “fantasy bra” modeled by Adriana Lima.

Obviously, both items are way, way beyond ridiculous.

But if you had the money and you had to pick, would you rather have $2 million in jewels beneath your shirt or for dessert?

In Defense of Kings of Leon

I love the new Kings of Leon album Come Around Sundown. I love it because it sounds almost exactly like their last album Only By The Night. Except their last album was better. I think that's partly due to it being so different than their previous efforts. Still, and despite reading some well-argued lukewarm reviews from critics, I think the new album is great too. And while I do agree that Come Around Sundown is less impressionable than their last effort, I question the sincerity of old school Kings of Leon fans who are currently losing interest in the band.

If you disliked Only By The Night, you'll dislike Come Around Sundown. And to that I can only ask: why? What's wrong with a band evolving and polishing their sound? What's wrong with a band discovering and sticking with a style that works for them? Don't confuse well-produced with over-produced. Don't confuse popularity with selling out. Yes, Kings of Leon is a famous American rock band now. DEAL WITH IT.

I'm ecstatic that a talented rock band can be heard on our radio stations and also do well overseas. Yes, I do have fairly mainstream taste. It's no secret...just take a look at all my music posts! But I try to stay open to all sounds. I especially try to stay open to any direction a band that I love moves toward or decides to stick with (I'll also be the first to criticize if that direction sucks). So if Kings of Leon wants to continue making accessible, polished, country-influenced rock music, then I'm thrilled to listen! If you're not into their sound anymore, that's fair. Taste is taste. Opinions are opinions. Music is subjective. But don't diss their new album (or their last album) because you only dig obscure, indie rock and can't handle listing a famous band as one of your favorite artists.

With that said, for those of you who did love Only By The Night, and don't mind two consecutive albums being similar, I highly recommend Come Around Sundown. I especially love these tracks: The End, The Face, and The Immortals. But the whole album is solid. You can currently download it for $7.99 on the Kings of Leon website here.

Oh! Just one last important comment: Caleb Followill's voice is still gut-wrenchingly sexy. I want to have sex with it so badly. Not even him, just his singing voice. Yeah, I wanna be his microphone.

'Tron: Legacy' preview premieres in Tokyo

"Tron: Legacy," the highly anticipated sequel to 1982’s ground-breaking sci-fi fantasy "Tron," will be released worldwide on December 17.

Most fans will have to wait, but yesterday a group of Japanese viewers was invited to sample scenes totaling 24 minutes. The preview was part of the Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF), where celebrities from around the world walked across the ecological green carpet.

To prevent footage from being leaked, security was tight at Roppongi Hills’ Toho Cinema where the TIFF advanced screening was held. Mobile phones were switched off, sealed into envelopes and checked at the door along with cameras and recording devices.

Cute times two! Actress Sarah Jessica Parker spent Saturday at a playground in Greenwich Village, New York with her adorable 1-year-old twins Tabitha (pictured above) and Loretta (October 23).

The Sex and the City star doted over her girls, pushing them in the swings and staying close as they toddled around the park.

SJP has been out and about with her kids a lot lately - just the day before we spotted her walking her 7-year-old son James to school.

SNSD 3rd Mini Album 'Hoot' Revealed

SNSD’s Yuri hidden songwriting abilities have been revealed! Apparently, she participated in both the behind-the-scenes and delivery of SNSD’s latest mini-album, “Hoot“.

“Hoot” consists of five very different songs and features efforts from many famous producers and writers such as Wheesung, Jinu, Kenzie, and Hwang Hyun.

Member Yuri wrote the lyrics for “It’s My Fault,” SNSD’s first ever R&B ballad track. The lyrics feature the sweet emotions and feelings of a young girl.

Other tracks include “First Snowfall..,” SNSD’s love song for young couples in the winter time, and “Best Friend,” a track that expresses the love and friendship between the members of SNSD. “Wake Up” declines in a more melancholic mood through sad lyrics being delivered to a loved one.

We can’t wait to hear what Yuri and the ladies have got in store for us! “Hoot” is scheduled for release on October 27th and the girls will start full promotions 2 days later.

Kate Gosselin's Nanny Quits

KATE Gosselin is being forced to look after her kids alone — after her nanny, Ariel Cantara, decided to walk out!

According to America’s Life & Style magazine, the reality TV mom — who has eight children with ex-husband Jon Gosselin – is a nightmare to work for.

“Kate is not the easiest person to deal with,” a source said.

“She drove Ariel insane. Kate’s controlling and a neat freak. No wonder Ariel quit.

“She has gone through about 11 nannies and tons of helpers in the past few years.

“Shifts can last up to 24 hours, and you have to go on trips with the family.

“Sleepovers are often required, and there is no set schedule with days off. You work when Kate says she needs you to work.

“Kate is unavailable to her children. She never plays with them anymore and is constantly busy with her personal affairs. That’s why she always needs a nanny!”

Kim Kardashian Makes Kold Move Against Reggie Bush

Looks like Kim Kardashian has decided not to take it easy on her ex-boyfriend Reggie Bush.

Back when Kim started going out with Dallas Cowboy Miles Austin, Reggie made an emotional phone call to Kim in response to reports of her new romance.

As a response, Kim has decided to air the phone call on an upcoming episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Ouch!

To add even more insult to injury, Kim's sister Khloe and brother Rob are listening in as the phone call takes place.

Yeah, sounds embarrassing. Maybe it's a good thing reports have come out about this now, so it won't come as a complete shock to you when this airs, Reggie!

BMX Star TJ Lavin Now Conscious After Dangerous Crash

BMX rider T.J. Lavin has been in a coma following a nasty crash on his bike a week and a half ago, but he is now reportedly conscious.

T.J. Lavin hosts MTV’s Real World/Road Rules Challenge.

Lavin’s business partner Chas Aday told PEOPLE that T.J. is starting to communicate:

    “He’s answering questions. He’ll say ‘yes’ a little bit and he knows where he is, but he’s not opening his eyes yet.”

    “We’re waiting on the orthopaedic surgeon on when they’re going to do that (operate). Then we’ll see when he’ll be (released from hospital). He may be there another week.”

T.J. suffered a broken wrist and several ribs in the crash.

Amy Winehouse Launches Collection For Fred Perry

What is it with established designers getting input from cracked out messes? First Lindsay Lohan for Ungaro and now Amy Winehouse for Fred Perry! I don’t know about you, but I’m not about to take fashion advice from Amy Winehouse… unless I suddenly decide I want to look like a cracked out pirate or a cheap prostitute. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Amy said she dressed like an “old Jewish black man.” If that’s not the perfect recipe for a fashion designer, then I don’t know what is.

Either way, Fred Perry decided it would be a brilliant idea to have Amy Winehouse create a collection, and Amy was just as surprised as you and me: “I was honored that they would even, like, ‘Do you want to come and do a line?’ Me, like, me?”

Amy is pictured at the launch party for her line on Thursday in London, where she performed a few songs including “Love is a Losing Game”, and wore a dress from her collection. Despite loving Fred Perry, Amy was too small to fit into his clothes, which started at a size 8. Her cracked out frame is a UK size 6 (one size bigger than a US 0), so she decided to expand her collection to include size 6, for skinny girls like her. Amy may be able to pull of her conservative stripper designs in these pictures, but would you ever wear them? … I actually kind of love the belted trench coat.

Jane Lynch Loves Married Life!

Life's pretty sweet for Jane Lynch.

Hit TV show. Won herself an EMMY. Newlywed. Good times!

And the best part of it is - she knows it!

In a recent interview with More Magazine, Jane opened up about her marriage and how wonderful it was for her to meet the right gal! She talks about:

    On meeting Ms. Right: Lynch met her wife, Lara Embry, last year at a lesbian rights fundraiser. A week after meeting, Lynch flew to Sarasota, Florida, where Embry lived. Just before takeoff, Lynch called Embry and said, "We need to acknowledge how courageous both of us are that I'm coming into town and you really don't know me. And I'm hopping on a plane to visit someone I really don't know. So for a moment, let's give ourselves a little pat on the back."

    On becoming a stepmother: Lynch's wife has an eight-year-old daughter. When asked, 'What's it like to become a parental figure for the first time in midlife?' Lynch replies, "I haven't really done it [on a day-to-day basis] yet. I took her to school. I picked her up. I went to lunch with her. So I kind of had a test run. We're pretty darn good together."

    On turning 50: "I like the equanimity that comes with my age. I don't have big highs, and I don't have big lows. Even if this job goes away tomorrow, the nonstop ambition is a thing of the past for me. I've mellowed."

We know all about nonstop ambition and we love to see it in other people!

No one is every going to stop Jane Lynch! Mark our words, she is going to be the next generation's Betty White!

Jennifer Lopez Does Gucci Ad With Her Twins

Jennifer Lopez is stuntin’ real hard in Gucci’s latest campaign with her twins Emme and Max.  Isn’t that cute.


After weeks of wondering if the hearsay is true, Gucci has confirmed that Jennifer Lopezalong with twins, Emme and Max, will star in the fashion house’s latest campaign.

The new Gucci line, which will hit stores in spring 2011, features the “Waiting For Tonight” singer and her two-year-old darlings.

“Jennifer Lopez stars in new Gucci children’s advertising campaign,” reads the Gucci twitter page.

Aside from producing the eye-catching photos, the fashion house will make a donation to UNICEF and the Maribel Foundation which J Lo started with her sister, Lynda.

Chen Wei-yih of Taiwan has found the right person to marry — herself. She’s spending $5,675 on a groom-less wedding that concludes with a honeymoon in Australia:

    “Age thirty is a prime period for me. My work and experience are in good shape, but I haven’t found a partner, so what can I do?” Chen said.

    “It’s not that I’m anti-marriage. I just hope that I can express a different idea within the bounds of a tradition,” she added.[...]

    “If I had a steady boyfriend, I wouldn’t do this,” Chen said. “It would be offensive to him, anyway.”

Cheryl Cole Seems Terrified By Piers Morgan’s Interview

Well, last night I watched Cheryl Cole‘s interview with Piers Morgan and it was chock-full of tears. The singer/X-Factor judge talked about her marriage, malaria and there were plenty of filler interviews with her ‘close friend’ (BOYFRIEND!) Derek Hough, her mom and friends from the biz, including fellow Girls Aloud members.

During the entirety, Cheryl seemed really uncomfortable and as she pointed out, it’s only been 12 weeks since her malaria incident and not that long since her divorce was finalized. It’s all still pretty raw. Watch part 1 of the interview after the jump!

Shanghai 2010 Expo Breaks World Fair Attendance Record

With a week to go before the end of Shanghai Expo (the China Pavilion will reopen in December), the event has hit its attendance target.

Expo officials around Shanghai are breathing a collective sigh of relief.

On Sunday, the last day visitors with standard tickets were allowed into the Expo site, more than 748,300 people visited the grounds, bringing attendance to a total of 70.45 million people.

The consistently long lines at the 2010 pavilions have made the Shanghai 2010 Expo the most attended event in World Fair's history.

The 2010 Expo has to hosted an average of 370,000 visitors a day.

The 70-million-person goal was not randomly selected. Shanghai Expo organizers chose their attendance target based on the 1970 Osaka Expo, the previous record holder. That event drew 64.21 million visitors.

To beat the record, China had to attract 6 percent of its population to the Shanghai 2010 Expo.

Shortly after the Expo opened on May 1, 2010, event watchers were doubtful that the 70-million-person record would be broken, as the number of daily visitors was far below 370,000.

Some of the attendance increase was credited to government-sponsored tour groups.

The explosion of crowds visiting the Expo during over the past month has strained Expo facilities.

"Our prime concern is that visitors have a good experience at the Expo," said Hong Hao, director of the Shanghai Expo Coordination Bureau. "But, of course, we are happy that this record has been achieved."

Daily attendance at 2010 Expo exceeded 600,000 last week.

The Expo is far from over. Crowds are likely to increase in this final week.

Xu Ding, an administrator with the operation center, explained to Shanghai Daily that officials cannot relax quite yet, with crowd sizes for the next week still unpredictable.

"It still remains unknown how many people will switch standard tickets for peak-time ones," he said.

Although visitors can no longer use standard tickets at the Expo, visitors can pay an additional RMB 40 to convert unused standard tickets to the peak-day tickets valid this week.

Kat Von D Meltdown Over Jesse James

More drama behind the scenes at "L.A. Ink" -- where sources tell us Kat Von D went nuclear over the way her ex-boyfriend Jesse James was portrayed in an upcoming episode.


Multiple sources tell us the recent drama began in the last few days ... after Kat viewed screeners of some upcoming episodes which spotlight her relationships with Jesse and her on-again BF Nikki Sixx.

We're told Kat -- who was dating Jesse when the show was being taped -- has decided that she no longer wants any traces of him on the TLC show ... and demanded that producers pull him from all future episodes.

Now, producers are desperately trying to rip Jesse from the show -- but we're told there's so much content to remove ... they're worried they may to pack the show with extra commercials to fill out the time before the show airs Wednesday night.

Calls to Kat's reps have not been returned.

Kristen Shares Breaking Dawn Tidbits

Happy Weekend, Twi-Hearts!

The Los Angeles Times was said to recently have caught up with our Bella Swan, a.k.a. Kristen Stewart, and she revealed some interesting tidbits about the filming of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

Can you believe the naturally slim Kristen is dieting for this next Twilight installment? It's crazy, but true! Kristen revealed to the L.A. Times that she wanted a cheeseburger quite badly, but couldn't indulge in the craving due to her upcoming role. She stated, "I want a cheeseburger so badly, but, you know, I have to be a vampire in a few weeks." She ended up "indulging" in a veggie burger instead.

Kristen then revealed that her pregnancy costume for Breaking Dawn gets enormous and eventually starts to look inhuman. She elaborates, "I've worn it. It's crazy. I've done fittings. It gets immense! It gets so massive at some point that it actually looks inhuman. Like it's hurting her. There are striations of bruises."
Thoughts, Twi-Hearts? These tidbits only serve to make me more excited and anxious for the release date of the movie! Personally, I'm going to begin re-reading Breaking Dawn to freshen my memory as more updates come to us from the Breaking Dawn stars themselves.

KPOP Night 2010

This past weekend fans in Singapore got a little treat in the form of a hot kpop concert. There was F.T. Island, SHINee, SNSD and – oh yeah – BIG BANG as part of the line up with the artists performing a few songs each.

Interestingly, SNSD were the only girl group in attendance. All this in addition to promoting in Korea and Japan – I’ll be interested to see  how the group juggles all its obligations. They tend to be a bit more….vocal (Taeyeon) when inconvenienced so hopefully the girls won’t be stretched to thin and SM won’t blow his company’s primary breadwinner (again). Anyway…

BIG BANG!

Well they have been gone from the music scene for a while.

Don’t tell me this doesn’t make you nostalgic:

Ok, if you ignore the shaky fan cams and the screaming. But those fans were able to record a good portion of the concert so you know how it goes…..if you click the video, more will follow…..

Jodie on The Sarah Jane Adventures

Series 4 of The Sarah Jane Adventures continues on CBBC this week, starting today with "Death of the Doctor", and it's a particularly exciting episode for several reasons: Russell T Davies is writing it, Matt Smith is guest starring as the Doctor, it sees the return of Katy Manning as Jo Grant - Jo Grant! - and, most excitingly for me, it features the voice of my ridiculously talented wife Jodie Kearns in some of Sam Watts' brilliant music.

She also did some vocals for part 2 of Joe Lidster's "The Nightmare Man" story that opened series 4, and you can hear that here at Sam's website - scroll down and play the track called "I Wasn't Talking To You". She's at the start, but also breaks into full on operatic mayhem towards the end, it's fantastic.

It's so cool and strange hearing Jodie singing on a TV show I love, particularly a Doctor Who related show, it feels almost like she's suddenly walked into shot. But I get the same feeling when she's on stage, for a moment I panic, and think "OMG! She's walked on stage! In the middle of someone's show!" - then my brain remembers she's supposed to be there. And now her voice is inside the TV. It be witchcraft, I tells ya!

Part 1 is on Monday 25th October, 5.15pm, CBBC, or Wednesday 27th, 4.30pm, BBC1. Part 2 is on Thursday 28th, 4.30pm, BBC1, or Friday 29th, 9am, CBBC. Glue your eyeballs to the nearest TV, and watch. Note: please do not *actually* glue your eyeballs to anything, this will cause irreparable damage to your sight and I will go to prison forever.

Better Than Revenge Lyrics

Most teenagers pour out their hearts in their diary. Not a certain teen country star – she puts her heart into her songs, and if you believe the “Better Than Revenge” lyrics, Taylor Swift still hasn’t gotten over her infamous breakup with Joe Jonas!  The words to the song on her new album, “”Speak Now,” are downright biting. She accuses the girl in “Revenge” of being “better known for the things that she does on the mattress.” Um, ouch!!

The target of her ire is rumored to be Camilla Belle, the “Push,” “10,000 BC” and “When a Stranger Calls” actress who dated Joe Jonas after he broke up with Swift. In fact, Swift seemed to believe, when they broke up two years ago, that Jonas had been cheating on her with Belle for months.

As anyone should now know, you don’t break up with Swift and expect the relationship to just fade away. As she sings in “Revenge,”  ”Don’t you know I always get the last word?”

So what do you think – should Taylor be airing her dirty laundry on an album? Is this really therapeutic?

Miley Cyrus poses for the paparazzi outside her car in Toluca Lake, CA. Miley is preparing for her upcoming performance for the European Music Awards on MTV. Eva Longoria will serve as the host of the awards. The show will premier on November 7th and feature other celebrities like Rihanna.

Miley really seems to love her cut off Levi’s shorts these days.  She paired them with a white tee, layers of necklaces and colored cowboy boots. Miley has worn cut off Levi’s a couple of times in the past month. She’s such a cute girl, I’m not sure why she doesn’t choose a pair of shorts that are more flattering!

Lady Gaga Billion YouTube Views

Pop Open the Bubbly: Lady Gaga has become the first artist to reach 1 billion views on YouTube.

On Sunday, the multi-award-winning outre singer — whose video epics include “Bad Romance” and “Alejandro” — achieved the unprecedented accolade of 1 billion views of her music videos on the web’s leading video-sharing website. The the horror of Beliebers everywhere, Gaga edged out Canadian singer Justin Bieber, who is expected to reach the milestone next month.

Ecstatic over news of the feat, Gaga sent a celebratory message out to her legion of fans on Twitter.

“We reached one billion views on YouTube little monsters. If we stick together we can do anything. I dub you kings and queens of YouTube! Unite!” Gaga Tweeted to her nearly 7 million followers.

The achievement comes hot on the heels of a year of online victories for the eccentric pop star. In addition to being one of the most popular search terms of 2009, in March, Gaga became the first artist to reach one billion video views on the internet.

Celine Dion Gives Birth to Twins

Singer Celine Dion, 42, gave birth Saturday to premature twin boys.

The yet-to-be named boys were delivered by cesarean section and are healthy, according to St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.

One infant weighs 5 pounds, 10 ounces, while the other is 5 pounds, 4 ounces, the hospital said.

Obstetrician Ronald Ackerman, in announcing the births, called Dion and husband Rene Angelil two of "the most caring and kind individuals" that the hospital has seen.

Dion checked into the hospital October 16 as a precaution "to prevent the early delivery of her babies," the medical center said.

Her doctors had wanted Dion to remain there at least until the first week of November, when she would be 37 weeks along in her pregnancy, her representative said this week.

Dion, 42, revealed in July that she was pregnant with twins after her sixth round of in vitro fertilization.

The couple has a 9-year-old son, Rene-Charles.

Russell Brand Married Katy Perry

Russell Brand and Katy Perry tied the knot Saturday night in India.
The couple "were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Brand on Saturday, October 23," they said after marrying in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends and performed by a Christian minister and longtime friend of Katy's family.
We couldn't be happier for the two of them.

In the days leading up to the nuptials (which you can follow this link to read all about), Brand and Perry have been pulling out all the stops for their guests.
It sounds like the result was a near-perfect event. Despite the lavishness of certain aspects of the wedding, Russell said it was all about keeping it simple.
"We just love each other and we want to get married in front of our friends and family and keep it very normal," said Brand earlier this month." It ain't about selling the pictures, it ain't about doing no pre-nup, it's just a normal thing."
"I'm trying to preserve it, to keep it beautiful," the Get Him to the Greek star said. "Love between two people is the most spectacular, yet ordinary thing in the world."
We're glad they found it with each other. Congratulations!
