Danielle Staub Sextape

Danielle Staub's sextape has added to the expanded celebrity offerings. I guess, that is, if you can call Danielle Staub a celebrity. Staub is the disliked housewife on the Real Housewives of New Jersey, and it's because of her that Dina left the cast. She's even been FIRED from the franchise. Of course, one has to wonder what the show will do for drama with her gone.

In recent days, we have had a seemingly endless stream of celebrity porn. One has to wonder if the stars really care or not whether or not their sextapes get leaked.

It all started, really, with the Kim Kardashian tape leak. This happened years ago, but inspired one Montana Fishburne, the daughter of Laurence Fishburne, to change her stage name to Chippy D and become a porn star.

Fantasia Barrino's unfortunate sextape also recently debuted - but because it may be used in a legal battle. Her tape is actually quite scandalous, as it involves a married man in the state of North Carolina where there are laws which allow his jilted ex to sue her.

And then there's the Speidi sextape. The stars of MTV's "The Hills" Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were married, so it only makes sense that they made a steamy video. Pratt is commanding some $5 million for the tape - no small change, but the tape would make a great addition to Vivid's ever expanding celebrity offerings.

Jenna Jameson, a well-known name in the adult entertainment industry rolls her eyes at the so-called "victimization" of women involved in sextape "scandals." Jameson recently tweeted that she knows of one woman who actually leaked her own sextape. Jameson's exact words are:

"Why do people do porno tapes, sell them, make boatloads of money, then LIE about being victimized. I know one girl who sold her tape herself, @SOFTBLUSHcom I know one of the girls that acts so prim and proper and sold her tape to get famous. The others I just speculate. I own up to my porn, I don't cry and say my boyfriend stole it."

Jimmy Fallon Emmys Opening

The Emmy opening number of “Born to Run” last night has to be one of the best Emmy openings in the history of the awards show.

Jimmy Fallon brought a fresh spin to the idea of an awards show opening number, by kicking off the Emmys with a concept that included one of the hottest shows on TV: Glee.

The great thing here is that Jimmy Fallon has the talent and vision to pull this off – and he doesn’t do it alone, either, recruiting an all-star cast of TV talent to kick off the Emmy opening number in true glee club fashion.

Not only were a handful of the Glee cast on hand for the opening number, but Kate Gosselin got to make fun of her Dancing with the Stars performance, plus we had the likes of Tina Fey, Jon Hamm, Betty White, Jane Lynch, Jorge Garcia, Joel McHale, Tim Gunn and Randy Jackson.

I’m including last year’s Emmy opening number of “Put Down the Remote,” featuring the insanely talented Neil Patrick Harris (video) to compare against Fallon’s Glee-inspired “Born to Run.”

NPH’s opening number set the bar high, but I think Fallon easily leapt over it!

What did you think of the 2010 Emmys opening number?

Monmouth County Power Outage

MONMOUTH/OCEAN COUNTIES — A power outage at a Jersey Central Power & Light sub-station this afternoon sparked a massive blackout that left more than 70,000 Monmouth County residents without power and snarled rush-hour traffic along several highways, officials said.

The malfunction occurred sometime between 4 and 5 p.m. at the JCP&'s Atlantic Sub-station in Colts Neck, according to N.J. State Police spokesman Sgt. Stephen Jones, causing a wide-ranging blackout that affected several municipalities in Monmouth and Ocean counties.

First Energy Corp. spokesman Spokesman Scott Surgeoner said an equipment failure in the sub-station’s power transmission system caused the outage at 4:40 p.m.

Initial reports from JCP&L had the power outage at 10,000 customers, but that number continued to increase through the evening.

Glenn Mason, the coordinator of the county’s office of emergency managementm, said power was largely restored around 9:30 p.m.

The outage may have affected more than 70,000 homes and businesses, knocking out power in nearly every municipality in Monmouth County, according to JCP&L’s company website.

Asbury Park, Belmar, Holmdel, Long Branch, Middletown, Neptune, Ocean Township and Red Bank were among the hardest hit, according to the web site, with at least 5,000 customers without power in each location.

Jones said hospitals in Red Bank, Holmdel, Long Branch and Neptune were running on emergency generators today evening, and at least four hospitals were without air conditioning due to the massive outage.

The blackouts also caused several traffic tie-ups along Routes 35 and 36 in Monmouth County, according to Middletown Police. Lt. Robert Stefanski said the outage knocked out traffic signals along both highways, and Middletown police officers were directing traffic in several clogged intersections.

Stefanski said the traffic issues had caused a few minor accidents, but both he and Jones said no one had been seriously injured as of 7:30 p.m. last night.

La Barbie Arrested

Mexican authorities captured a legendary Texan on Monday who is accused of a bloody climb to the top echelon of one of the hemisphere's most powerful drug cartels.

Edgar Valdez Villarreal, known as "La Barbie" for his looks, faces a slew of charges in Mexico, but also is wanted in the United States, where he has been indicted for smuggling thousands of pounds of cocaine into this country.

The U.S. government has offered a reward of up to $2 million for his capture.

In an interview with the Houston Chronicle late Monday, a Houston lawyer representing Valdez, 37, said he fears his client will be tortured or worse before he can be returned to the United States for trial.

"I do not think anyone is safe in the hands of the Mexican military" defense attorney Kent Schaffer said. "Something is going to happen."

Most recently, Valdez was indicted in Atlanta on federal charges he imported and distributed thousands of kilograms of cocaine from 2004 to 2006.

U.S. prosecutors contend the drugs were often smuggled north through Texas and then on to Atlanta, which is a hub for cartel activity in the Southeastern United States.

In turn, millions of dollars in proceeds were sent back to Mexico a similar way, according to court papers.

Valdez is said to have been a standout high-school football player in the Texas-Mexico border city of Laredo, where a coach nicknamed him Barbie for his hair and eye color.

It is unusual for an American to climb so high in the ranks of Mexican organized crime, but not unprecedented.

Texas-born Juan Garcia Abrego was captured in Mexico in the 1990s and sent to Houston, where he was convicted of drug-trafficking crimes as the head of the Gulf Cartel. He is now serving multiple life sentences.

A Mexican federal government source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said Valdez was captured by federal police outside Mexico City and he was being held in the capital city at a secure location.

"A result of intelligence gathered by the modernized federal police force he was arrested in the State of Mexico," the source said.
'A big deal'

Gary Hale, the recently retired chief of intelligence for the Drug Enforcement Administration's Houston Division, said Valdez could be among the top five traffickers in Mexico.

"It is a big deal to capture a cartel head who happens to be a U.S. citizen," said Hale, who is owner of Grupo Savant, a law-enforcement and intelligence consulting firm.

Hale said he doubts Valdez will be harmed because any allegations of rights abuses involving such a high-profile prisoner could jeopardize U.S. financial assistance.

According to the U.S. government, Valdez was part of the Sinaloa Cartel before one of its chief leaders established his own organization.

That leader, Arturo Beltran Leyva, was killed in December 2009 in a shootout with the Mexican military.

His death was believed to have left the throne of power to Valdez, but also left a target clearly on his back. He was in a war with Beltran Leyva's brother, Hector, for control of the business.

While Valdez hasn't been formally charged for carnage in Mexico, he's widely been blamed for killings and rivals have sought to mock him by hanging and mutilating his soldiers, as well as leaving public messages with insults.

The attorney, Schaffer, said his client was on the run and knew time was running out.

"You die, get caught or spend your life looking over your shoulder," he said.

"We thought there was a distinct possibility," he said of Valdez's capture, which he found out about through a Valdez family member. As a result, Schaffer had been hired to look at options in the event Valdez was captured.

He hopes he'll be sent back to the United States.

As of Monday night, Schaffer said he was still trying to find his client.

Ndamukong Suh

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Ndamukong Suh play against Jake Delhomme (video below) is now under NFL review.  Ndamukong Suh’s play against Jake Delhomme prompted Browns coach Eric Mangini to denounce the Suh play and call for NFL involvement. Suh got a 15 yard penalty for the slamming of Delhomme to the  ground. NFL spokesman Gregg Aiello confirms the league is investigating the  matter but would not provide any further details. Suh said he just messed up, that he thought Delhomme still had the ball.

Brown players told football news Monday that Suh should be suspended while fellow Lions defended Suh. In contrast, Lions players justify it as an error lacking any intent to cause harm; they assert Suh just messed up and truly believed Delhomme still had the ball. Mangini agreed that Suh didn’t do it on purpose but that the play did put the safety of Delhomme at risk. Delhomme’s position on the matter is more relaxed. He says whatever the NFL decides he supports. But he adds that he was happy to get a first down off the mistake.

Online reaction to the video has been mixed. “If he did that to Brett Favre or Tom Brady, he’d definitely be? ejected, fined and suspended” comments one viewer. Many felt it was nothing more than a penalty. “Delhomme looked like a rag doll. Its a penalty, but nothing more.” Others contend the means by which Suh effectuated the play was dirty “that was a dirty play. It’s one thing to get a face mask but to just toss a guy around by the neck? Dirty.”

One notes that Suh tackles high and show be more careful to avoid penalties. “If you look at his highlights this is pretty much how Suh tackles. He grabs pretty high. definitely not malicious. The toss at the end is what he does too.” And one simply notes “it’s not wise for a rookie to make enemies of veteran players in the NFL.”

Hurricane Fiona 2010

Hurricane Earl intensified this afternoon and became a category 4 cyclone. In short, this system is big and powerful. It is tracking through minimal wind shear and very warm sea surface temperatures which will likely see it intensify even further over the next 48 hours. It is still tracking slightly north of west at about 13 knots (24 kmh/15 mph).

While the storm is still expected to recurve northward, its continued forward speed to the west has shifted the forecast track somewhat west. This brings the forecast even closer to the US eastern seaboard and should give Nova Scotia some moment of pause. While it is still far too early to forecast a landfall, most models have this cyclone reaching as far west as Maine or as far east as seaward of Nova Scotia as a possible category 2 hurricane.

Invest 97L was upgraded to a tropical storm and is now TS Fiona with rain bands starting to appear in wind fields of about 35 knots. Whether Fiona intensifies or not is difficult to say. It is tracking almost due west at 21 knots (39 kmh/24 mph) which means it is moving closer to Earl.

I know the immediate response to this is to expect that the two cyclones will merge to form an even bigger storm, however, that's not what happens. Earl is generating strong upper outflow winds which will create strong wind shear in Fiona's path. With that happening, and with Earl robbing Fiona of moist air, there is a fairly decent chance that Fiona will lose its energy and dissipate. If... it keeps moving at its current speed. If it slows down Fiona could become a whole different story.

Jason Sudeikis Tries to Defend

As critics bashed January Jones's  unique Versace gown, Jones's boyfriend, Jason Sudeikis, did his best to defend her ensemble, gushing, "It's something else, isn't it?" Too bad Jones claims she won't let Sudeikis see her naked after he confessed to George Lopez that he already had. Jenna Fischer flaunted her wedding ring for the first time.  Kate Gosselin  said she wasn't dating anyone and remained glued to her bodyguard the whole night.  While en route to the Chateau Marmont Friday night, Lindsay Lohan  was pulled over by the police and let off with a warning.  After being arrested for cocaine possession in Vegas late Friday night, Paris Hilton tweeted that she was "in bed watching 'Family Guy'" and is "not worried" about her situation. Her hairstylist, meanwhile, says Hilton was sober when he saw her just prior to her arrest. Her parents blame her new boyfriend, Cy Waits, for her recent brush with the law.

Remember when Levi Johnston apologized to Sarah Palin? Now he wishes he never said he was sorry because he thinks it "makes [him] sound like a liar." Madonna's adopted daughter, Mercy, refuses to meet the 26-year-old waiter claiming to be her father. Glee cast members like Mark Salling are "furious" because they've received no cash from their Sony record deal, despite their latest album having reached No. 1 on the charts.  Kelsey Grammer and his pregnant stewardess girlfriend went apartment hunting.  Kim Kardashian wants to date a "normal Armenian boy."

Larry David joined Robert Kennedy Jr. at Nello while Eli Manning dined at a table nearby.  Hillary Clinton noshed on a falafel plate and Bill Clinton opted for a veggie burger at Babette's in East Hampton. Jon Bon Jovi brought his son to meet Dwyane Wade at Madame Tong's Redux in Southampton Saturday night, where Veronica Webb, Star Jones, and Bethenny Frankel were cozying up to the Miami Heat star. January Jones Emmy Dress

Well it was certainly one of the most talked about gowns of the evening and now I want to know January Jones 2010 Emmy dress love it or hate it? In case you missed the show or can’t remember what it looked like I have some pictures for you below as well as video you’ll want to check out.
January Jones Emmy Dress

January Jones 2010 Emmy dress was something to say the least and the question of the day seems to be did you love it or hate it. I have to say I am a hater I did not like it at all. In fact the only thing I found appealing about it was the color which I liked a lot. Other than that my first thought when I saw Jones on the Red Carpet was WTF was she thinking?

There were just so many things wrong with not only the gown itself but with January too. I mean did she even do anything with her hair because to me it looked like she just got out of bed, yes it was bed head hair. I know we are talking about the gown here and that being said I will give her credit for taking a risk she definitely didn’t look like anyone else at the show. However the ensemble was a disaster in my book it was so overwhelming for the super skinny blond beauty. It was like the gown over took her if you know what I mean.

January Jones 2010 Emmy dress did you love it or hate it? You know my thoughts I didn’t like it at all, however I get the feeling that some people actually thought it was pretty good. In fact I think there is mixed feeling about January’s choice for the prestigious awards. I know you all have an opinion on this topic so come on give your thoughts on it.

Burning Man 2010

Burning Man 2010 is running from today, August 30th until September 6th. It will take place in Black Rock City, Nevada just as it does every other year. The annual event is expected to be extremely entertaining this year.

For those of you are are considering attending the event but don’t know exactly what it is, it an art and dance festival that began back in 1986 by Larry Harvey and Jerry James, along with a few friends they had met on Baker Beach, San Francisco. They burned a giant wooden man and a wooden dog . The man measured approximately 2.7 meters.

The event moved to Black Rock City, Nevada in 1990 and has been there every year since, with the exception of 1997. It is not an event that can simply be defined by a few words. It’s a huge get-together where people wear what they want (including nothing at all), and do what they want.

Burning Man 2010 is expecting over 50,000 people, and tickets will run you at least $210.00. Some go up as high as $360.00. You can expect to see crazy looking costumes, performance art, dancing, and a 40 foot effigy.

The event has been attracting a lot of drug use lately, so city officials will have a vast number of undercover police officers roaming around.

“I don’t want my guys to be party poopers, but we have a job to do. They’re not bad people, but they like to use drugs,” said Mark Pirtle, who is in charge of the Bureau of Land Management.

If you attend the event, be safe, and be smart. You should have a blast.

Thelma Todd on TCM

It’s Thelma Todd day on Turner Classic Movies. As part of TCM’s "Summer Under the Stars" series, about a dozen Thelma Todd shorts are being shown this afternoon, in addition to six features this evening. [Thelma Todd schedule.]

I’m unfamiliar with Todd’s film career. I’ve seen her in a few supporting roles (Roy Del Ruth‘s The Maltese Falcon, the Marx Brothers‘ Monkey Business) and that’s about it.

Anyhow, since either ZaSu Pitts or Patsy Kelly can be found in most of the Thelma Todd shorts, they must be worth a look.

As for this evening, the one definite recommendation I have is The Maltese Falcon / Dangerous Female (1931), which I find infinitely more entertaining than John Huston‘s celebrated 1941 remake. Pretty much everyone else will disagree, I’m sure, but that’s how it goes…

Ricardo Cortez, The Maltese Falcon Dangerous Female

Best of all is Ricardo Cortez‘s spot-on Sam Spade. Unlike Humphrey Bogart‘s tough-talking gumshoe, Cortez’s Spade displays a mix of sliminess, slyness, slickness, sensuality, and, gasp, integrity. I say "gasp" because Cortez’s characters usually came across as anything but ethical.

Also, being a pre-Code production, The Maltese Falcon gets away with certain elements less evident in the 1941 remake, including the daddy-son relationship between Dudley Digges and his "gunsel" Dwight Frye.

Also in the enjoyable cast: Bebe Daniels, Otto Matieson, and Una Merkel.

People talk about Hollywood having no imagination nowadays, what with all those remakes and reboots, etc., etc., coming out. And to think that within a decade, The Maltese Falcon reached the screen three times, courtesy of Warner Bros.

In addition to Cortez and Bogart, there was also Warren William in the 1936 cheapo "reboot" Satan Met a Lady, co-starring Bette Davis.

At the age of 29, Thelma Todd died under mysterious circumstances on Dec. 16, 1935. Her death was ruled a suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning, but many believed it was actually murder related to the goings-on at her nightclub/restaurant "Thelma Todd’s Sidewalk Cafe."

Tropical Storm Fiona

There's no absolute certainty in weather forecasting. But the future of Tropical Storm Fiona, the most recent in a trio of named storms, is more uncertain than the storm's two immediate predecessors, Danielle and Earl.

As of this evening, Tropical Storm Fiona had a sustained wind of 40 mph and was roughly 850 miles to the east of the Leeward Islands.

The official National Hurricane Center forecast is for the tropical storm to slowly strengthen but remain below hurricane strength as it takes a track very similar to that of Earl for the next few days. Forecasters expect the storm to be centered just to the north of the Lesser Antilles on Wednesday, where Hurricane Earl was early today.

At this point, there are as many questions as answers about Fiona's future.

Powered by storm-tracking software from Stormpulse.com

Since both Danielle and Earl blossomed into major hurricanes over the open Atlantic when moving through an environment with warm water and little wind shear (upper-level wind flow that inhibits hurricane formation), it might be expected that the same type of intense development would follow with Fiona.

But Fiona has been slower to organize, and government forecasters point to dry air and a lack of organization as factors that will continue to slow the storm's development during the next couple of days. The risk is that Fiona could fight off the dry air in its way and begin to take advantage of the very warm water and develop regardless of the current lack of organization.

In addition, Fiona is expected later this week to move into an environment with wind shear, which could also inhibit development. One of the reasons for the expected shear may very well be Fiona's proximity to Earl in a few days. Since Fiona is moving more quickly than Hurricane Earl -- 24 mph versus 15 mph as of this evening -- the upper-level wind being created by Earl might slow the development of Fiona.

The weaker and less organized Fiona is at the time it encounters shear, the more likely it is to be weakened by shear.

The forecast track of Fiona also carries some uncertainty. Forecasters are confident that the storm will track northwestward -- similar to Earl -- for at least the next few days, and there's a good chance that the storm will remain to the east of the United States. But changes in the overall weather pattern from the weekend and beyond mean that other forecast tracks are possible.

With so many questions, it's important that anyone with interests from the northeastern Caribbean to the United States continue to monitor the progress of Fiona in the coming days.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Sues Upper Deck

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is outraged that a trading card company has traded on his image after he specifically shut them down ... and now Kareem is gunning for more than a million.

In a lawsuit filed today in L.A. County Superior Court and obtained by TMZ ... Kareem claims The Upper Deck Company plastered 6 Kareem pics from his days as a UCLA Bruin on its "Greats of the Game" series.

Kareem ... who is the NBA's all-time leading scorer with 38,387 points ... claims Upper Deck had the audacity to market the cards after he turned them down flat.

The lawsuit, filed by legal pit bull Marty Singer, notes that when Kareem left the NBA, he blocked more shots, won more Most Valuable Player awards, played in more All-Star Games and logged more seasons than any other player.  Shockingly, Singer makes no mention of Kareem's epic performance in the greatest movie of all time -- "Airplane!"

The lawsuit seeks more than $1 million in damages.

Latest News Update About Christina Hendricks Cup Size, Christina Hendricks Emmys 2010: Christina Hendricks hits the red carpet as she arrives at the 2010 Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre on Sunday (August 29) in Los Angeles. The 35-year-old Mad Men actress, wearing a Zac Posen dress and Rene Caovilla heels, was joined by her husband Geoffrey Arend, who wore a Black Fleece tuxedo by Brooks Brothers. You know, at this point, the ONLY thing that makes any of these awards ceremonies worthwhile anymore is catching a glimpse of our favourite redhead on the… uh… red carpet…  You see?  It’s even NAMED for her.And as usual, Ms. Hendricks didn’t disappoint; looking luscious in lavender.Seriously, I’d rather watch the fair Christina sitting on a folding chair in the middle of the stage reading a magazine for an hour than have to suffer through performances by the cast of Glee.

Hurricane Earl Path Video

Hurricane Earl is set on a path for the U.S., currently projected to head up north to lower New England  and potentially could maintain its hurricane strength while doing so. As someone who has experienced major hurricanes firsthand--I experienced the eye of Hurricane Andrew in Miami in 1992, and the pre-New Orleans effects of Hurricane Katrina--I have seen how difficult hurricanes can be. The emotional and physical damage is real (during Andrew, we lost all of our shingles, our roof caved in, our porch blew away, and I wound up a traumatized elementary school kid).

    * ·  Hurricane Earl Path Could Cause Real-And Financial-Destruction
    * ·  Custard, Salsa, Throw It On The Grill: Corn Is Cheap And Healthy
    * ·  Waste Time, Waste Money: How Much Does Procrastination Cost?

Without minimizing the crouching-in-a-bathtub-while-your-house-pirouettes-around-you effect, it's important to remember how expensive storm damage can be, and how helpful it is to take preventive measures. Even though Earl doesn't look like it's going to pull any category 5 wizardry on the Northeast, consider Katrina's effect on my childhood home: It was only category 1 or 2 when it hit, but our roof leaked so terribly that we had to use our generator to run the dryer in order to produce more towels to stop up the water--we'd used every single towel in the house. The same thing happened to all our neighbors, because all of our roofs were exactly 13 years old, since they'd all last been replaced after Andrew. Preventive measures like customized shutters are extremely expensive, but, after the stories I've heard, I wouldn't put my trust in ply board.

Bottom line: Prevention is expensive, but cleanup is even more expensive. The Northeast isn't used to hurricanes, but if you're looking for someone to tell you about stocking up on bottled water, just ask the Miami girl in me.

Albuterol

Paris Hilton was arrested on Friday night for cocaine possession  (in Las Vegas, Nevada). In addition to cocaine, she also had other items, including the prescription medication albuterol, a police report indicates.

What is albuterol?

Albuterol is a prescription medicine used to treat asthma. Specifically, it is used for the relief of bronchospasm (bronchial tube spasm) in conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Albuterol is frequently distributed in inhalers, but also in tablet or liquid form. In the case of Hilton, the albuterol was in the form of a broken tablet.

According to the police report, Hilton said the person did not belong to her. Rather, it belonged to a friend. On the other hand, Hilton claimed ownership of the broken Albuterol pill, Zig Zag wrappers commonly used to wrap marijuana joints, $1,300 in cash and credit cards.

The police report said Hilton, 29, asked to use a bathroom after police stopped the Cadillac Escalade she was in. The car was stopped because police detected a "strong odor of marijuana" from an open window.
"While we were waiting for the female officer to arrive, Hilton said she needed to put some lip balm on, and I handed her the purse from the table. As she began to open it, I saw a small bindle of what I believed to be cocaine in a clear baggy begin to fall from the purse into my hand."

Evidently the reason she needed to go to the bathroom not to put lip balm on, but to flush something, and not bodily waste, either.

The last time Paris Hilton faced down the law, upon hearing a sentence of 45 days in jail, Hilton shouted, "It's not right!" and started screaming for her mother. What was not right, in her opinion, was that she was not above the law due to her riches. Many celebrities act as such.

In this case, if Hilton is convicted, she could spend 4 years in jail.

Troy Polamalu's Hair

Steelers safety Troy Polamalu is one of the biggest paradoxes in the NFL; he’s one of the most ferocious defensive backs in the game and makes incredible plays, yet he has the longest hair and one of the softest voices in the league. It just doesn’t jive.

Polamalu’s popularity as a player precedes him as he was actually featured on the cover of Madden 2010 last year. The Madden Cover Curse struck Troy in the first half of his season opener last year as he hurt his knee and hardly contributed to Pittsburgh’s defense, playing just five games. This was bad news for more than just Steelers fans; head and shoulders made a big investment in Troy, featuring him in commercials all throughout the season. After making such a large commitment to a player, the last thing you want to see is him get injured and become irrelevant.

Well, it looks like head and shoulders is sticking by their guy. It was announced Monday that the P&G shampoo company took out a $1 million insurance policy on Troy Polamalu’s hair with Lloyd’s of London. Apparently Polamalu hasn’t cut his locks for seven years which is about 83 months more than me. His hair has become so long it seems to be a hazard on the field, but at least the good news is he doesn’t play offense otherwise people could use it as a tackling device.

By the way, I fully realize that I’ve taken the bait in a total publicity stunt, but it was a good one. Plus, you really think I would miss a chance to post pictures of Polamalu going with the Nordberg ‘do?

Takepart.com/thecove has recently exposed the killing of more than 20,000 dolphins and porpoises along the coastal region of Japan every year. After slaughtering them the meat of these sea animals are being sold which contains high toxic levels of mercury. These toxic meats are widely sold labeled as Whale meat in Japan and some other parts of Asia. People unknowingly are consuming these toxic meats which can be very much damaging to health. Hence The Cove is conducting a Social Action Campaign to build worldwide awareness against the annual practice as well as the threats of eating contaminated seafood with high level of mercury and to force those in power to stop the slaughter as soon as possible.

Nearly a million people have taken part in the campaign. Hope this will stop the butchery of the dolphins and restrain people from eating contaminated meats as well.

If the preview is to be seen in raw, the episode will feature season 1's villain Rene Lenier coming back to Bon Temps from his grave.

"In episode 12, the final episode," Denis O'Hare talks about Russell in the finale, "I was encumbered with a lot of stuff, and it made the shooting process incredibly difficult. I had to do a lot of physical stunts. I love doing my own stunts, [but] it was a lot more than I thought I would do. And then I had a lot of makeup. The make-up was heavy-duty, two and a half hours in, two and a half hours out."

Entourage Season 7 Episode 9

Porn stars just have no gratitude. Take Sasha Grey, for example. During a meeting with new “Airwalkers” director Peter Berg, Vince secures her a small part as a secretary — with a possibly expanded role in the sequel! — and what thanks does he get? She’s still considering shooting a porn movie. With an ex-fiance in one of the leads.

Vince learns about his girl’s plans during a romantic dinner that turns dysfunctional. He protests her decision to return to porn. She says he’s being controlling. He becomes angry and mixed up and drops the “L” word — perhaps an “Entourage” first. They celebrate in porn-star style — a quickie in a public restroom.

Eric is still trying to convince Drama to sign on to star in the animated series “Johnny’s Bananas” (”The network thinks this could be the next Simpsons,” Phil Yagoda tells E). He gets nowhere until his assistant, Jennie, begins talking Drama off one of his frequent emotional ledges in her sexy British tones. After a little ego stroking and hand holding, Drama agrees to star even without having seen the big presentation that Lloyd and Phil Yagoda arranged. One Chase brother is out of his own way; one more to go.

The Turtle storyline is trying our patience, so we won’t try yours. In brief: Turtle oversteps his bounds again, the head of Avion gets angry again, Mark Cuban again cameos as an investor (Cuban, incidentally, is so awkward on screen that he’s not even believable in the role of Mark Cuban). Could “Entourage” executive producer Doug Ellin’s friendship with the real marketers of Avion be the reason this lame plot has wasted Turtle’s season? We think so.

As for Ari, things are just starting to cool down in king-of-the-world land when he finds out from Queen Latifah that his arch-rival, Amanda Daniels, is bringing the NFL team to L.A. now that the league has punted Ari. Poisonous rivalries trump family time, so Ari keeps his wife waiting for their dinner date while he stakes out Daniels’ office. He can hold off Mrs. Ari no more. At the restaurant, Ari swears that he won’t be thinking about business — he isn’t even carrying a Blackberry — but after spotting Daniels with some men a few tables over, he springs into action. Ari ducks into the bathroom where his assistant has hidden a BBM. He calls Daniels, then drops the cell in the toilet by accident. Back at the table, Daniels stops by the Gold table and Ari blows his stack.

He screams that he’s going to bury her for giving the tapes to Deadline Hollywood, and bury her even more for bringing his beloved NFL team to L.A. When he’s done panting and all the diners are staring at him, Daniels quietly lowers the boom. She didn’t send the tapes to Deadline; an angry assistant who once worked under Ari did. And she wanted to involve him in the NFL franchise — the men she’s dining with are league honchos but now that he’s publicly humiliated himself, that won’t be happening. Mrs. Ari is humiliated. See you both in couples therapy.

Herschend Family Entertainment Preview

Herschend Family Entertainment:Today, the new episode Undercover Boss on CBS, General Director of Herschend Family Entertainment goes undercover in his own company. Keep reading for more detailed information on the experiences of Joel Manby working on the frontline of entertainment his company parks and aquariums …

Today, the episode of Undercover Boss, Joel Manby, CEO of Herschend Family Entertainment goes undercover in his own company to see what life is like for his blue-collar worker. Herschend Family Entertainment is a $ 300 million company, which manages 22 properties, which include amusement parks and aquariums across the country. Unlike some previous tools, which were shown on Undercover Boss, Joel actually strikes me as a decent, stand-up guy who started with nothing and worked hard to achieve success. Despite the acknowledged problems with alcohol in the past, Joel family in the heart of a guy with strong values.

the first work of Joel on Undercover Boss is located in Stone Mountain Park in Georgia. He will work with Captain Howard (aka “Tiny”) for the Ride-The-Duck attraction, the land-water vehicle, which offers tours for children. Captain Howard basically giant cartoon character. He is optimistic, cheerful, and the children love him! As Joel works with him, he struck Howard enthusiasm and zeal for life.
Next Joel works Undercover Boss is in Silver Dollar City theme park in Branson, Missouri. Joel will work with Albert at the gate. With the theme park is 1880, Joel must wear a Wild Wild West costume before facing clients. His work is very simple: scanning of tickets and welcome. He is confident a bit, but after the first pep talk by Albert, Joel makes a great work. Further, it is time to stock stroller at the gate. Joel struggle a bit to keep up with Albert, a 20-year-old boy, who hopes to become the next CEO.

On their lunch break, Albert shares his aspirations Joel which includes a desire to develop the park. Conveniently, that he had a computer at hand and takes time to show Joel a few rides, he has created. Albert also reveals that he grew up poor and tries his studies in college. He worked in the park for six years (since he was 14) and his 40-hour work week does not provide flexibility to school.
The third task for today episode of Undercover Boss takes Joel to Silver Dollar City park clean. Joel met with Richard to wash the streets of Silver Dollar City and it turns out, Joel is not so great at handling hoses. Joel and Richard regard the fact that they both adoptive parents. Richard shares that he lost his home and belongings during the floods a few years ago, and that saddens Joel, especially after the Herschend Family Entertainment offers assistance to needy families, and Richard obviously did not take advantage of it.

fourth operation on Joel Undercover Boss in Missouri Showboat Branson Belle. He is working with Jennifer as a server on the boat. After changing into his tuxedo, Joel races after Jennifer, trying to serve food and drinks for guests Branson Belle. Joel impressed with the ability to Jennifer to be effective and, at the same time. On their lunch break, Jennifer gets a call that her daughter was ill. This leads to a conversation with Joel about the struggle being a single mother and working on self-promotion. She wants to Herschend Family Entertainment offer childcare facilities for employees of the park hours from the time they are so unusual.

The final work of Joel as Undercover Boss is in the Aquarium Adventure in New Jersey. It works together with Mercedes at the touch tank, an interactive attraction on the aquarium. After teaching children about marine animals, Joel and Mercedes leave to touch the tank to start cleaning various tanks around the aquarium. Mercedes strict boss, questioning experience cleaning Joel. I’m guessing, Joel maid or a very helpful wife at least, given his poor window washing abilities. How do they work together, Joel learns a little more about the Mercedes, a single mother who works in virtually every department of the aquarium. Mercedes reveals that she and her son were homeless before her work in an aquarium. Joel and humbled to tears by the story Mercedes.

It’s time Joel reveal his true identity of employees, he worked as Undercover Boss. Before the big reveal, Joel meets with his executive board to discuss their experiences. Among its main tasks is that the fighting staff were unable to apply for financial aid. He is hoping that the team will be able to assist in the best marketing programs. In addition, he wants to concentrate on providing better services for single parents in the company.

When Joel staff from earlier this week came to the meeting, are shocked to learn that in fact the director Joel Herschend Family Entertainment. After explaining his reasoning for this Undercover Boss, Joel talks with each employee individually. Captain Howard first and Joel expressed his satisfaction, he was with the performance of Howard as a driver-Ride-Duck. Joel Howard wants to travel to other cities by train-The-Duck program staff in the new captains. Not surprisingly, Howard enthusiastic and upbeat about to receive news!

Next, Joel meets Jennifer, a server with mum showboat. He was impressed with the work of Jennifer ethics and inspired her story childcare assistance for the single parents. The next step is Richard’s adoptive father who lost his home. Herschend Family Entertainment is to provide Richard $ 10000 grant to repair his house, as well as the distribution of the labor effort of all personnel of Silver Dollar City improvements. Richard overcome emotion outpouring of generosity. During a meeting with Mercedes, Joel gives her a raise immediately and promises that Herschend will provide furnishings for her new apartment. Finally, Joel met with Albert. Joel was inspired by Albert to undertake a program College of Science. Albert will be the first recipient, receiving a full salary to go to college full time. Albert moved to tears and I can not wait to share the news with his parents.

After meeting with staff, it’s time for general corporate activities. Joel addresses the entire company on his experiences as Undercover Boss. Highlight reel plays necessary to Joel acknowledges the hard work of their employees, and expresses how he changed people as a result of his experience.

Tune in to Undercover host next Sunday at CBS, when the COO of Roto-Rooter goes undercover in his own company.

Bryan Cranston

Bryan Cranston’s portrayal of a meth dealer in “Breaking Bad” and Kyra Sedgwick’s role as a brassy deputy police chief in “The Closer” earned the pair top drama series acting Emmy Awards on Sunday.

Cranston’s honor was his third trophy for playing a high school math teacher gone wrong, while his co-star, Aaron Paul, earned his first award as best supporting actor for playing his partner-in-crime.

“During the time it took me to walk up here, I venture there were 200 text messages to the other nominees saying, ‘You were robbed.’ I cannot argue with that,” Cranston said.

Archie Panjabi of “The Good Wife” was honored as best supporting actress in a drama for her part as a law-firm’s in-house private investigator, as Emmy voters spread the riches widely among veterans and fresh faces.

Edie Falco of “Nurse Jackie” and Jim Parsons of “The Big Bang Theory” were honored for their comedy series lead roles.

Falco’s trophy for playing a tough but troubled nurse came after her hallmark turn as a mob boss’ wife in “The Sopranos,” for which she won three best drama actress Emmys.

“Oh, this is the most ridiculous thing that has ever, ever happened in the history of this lovely awards show. I’m not funny!” Falco said.

Parsons won for his portrayal of a scientist as nerdy as he is brilliant. He ended fellow nominee Alec Baldwin’s two-year winning streak for “30 Rock” and beat out other heavyweights including Tony Shalhoub, nominated for the final season of “Monk” and a three-time winner, and Steve Carell of “The Office.”

“Now I know how much I didn’t think this was going to happen. Some of you apparently voted for me. That was very sweet,” Parsons told the theater audience.

Eric Stonestreet of “Modern Family” and Jane Lynch of “Glee” were honored for their comedy-series supporting roles.

“All I wanted to be was a clown in the circus when I was a kid growing up,” said Stonestreet, who plays a boisterous gay dad and partner. He thanked his parents for their support and promised to send his trophy home with them.

Lynch also thanked her folks along with her wife, Lara Embry. The pair married in Massachusetts in May.

“This is outlandish. … I want to thank my lord and creator, Ryan Murphy, for creating his role,” Lynch said, paying tribute to the “Glee” executive producer.

“Top Chef” won best reality series, ending the seven-year winning streak of “The Amazing Race.”

Jon Stewart’s “The Daily Show” won its eighth consecutive Emmy Award for best variety, music or comedy series. The victory kept Conan O’Brien from claiming an Emmy for his short-lived stint as “Tonight” host.

George Clooney accepted the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award from his former “ER” co-star, Julianna Margulies, who lauded his fundraising efforts for victims of this year’s earthquake in Haiti, the 2004 tsunami in Indonesia and the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Clooney, recalling evenings spent with Bob and Dolores Hope at the home of his aunt, singer Rosemary Clooney, said he was inspired by the late comedian and his wife, now 101.

“If you look at everything they accomplished in their lives … They’re the best version of the term ‘celebrity,’” Clooney said.

Jewel sang her song “Hole in My Heart” during a memorial tribute to prominent TV figures, including Robert Culp, Soupy Sales, Dixie Carter, Gary Coleman, John Forsythe and “Roots” producer David L. Wolper.

“Temple Grandin,” the movie based on the life of the gifted animal sciences expert, earned an Emmy for its star, Claire Danes, and supporting acting trophies for Julia Ormond and David Strathairn. The film’s director, Mick Jackson, also was honored.

Al Pacino was honored as best lead actor in a miniseries or movie for “You Don’t Know Jack,” about euthanasia advocate Dr. Jack Kevorkian, who was in the audience and stood, smiling, at Pacino’s request. The controversial physician received scattered applause.

Host Jimmy Fallon opened the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards on a musical note, performing a song-and-dance number with the cast of “Glee” and a wildly mismatched group of celebrities including Betty White, Jon Hamm, Kate Gosselin and Randy Jackson.

Much of the group ended up on the Nokia Theatre stage to kick off the awards with a high-energy version of “Born to Run,” with Fallon on guitar.

“Tonight we’re going to celebrate your work,” Fallon told the audience. “So let’s have some fun tonight.”

Last year’s host, Neil Patrick Harris, was a presenter Sunday and took the time to rib Fallon.

“I want to thank the (TV) academy for allowing a gay man to host the Emmys two years in a row. Congratulations, Jimmy, you’re doing a good job,” Harris said, smiling.

The public had a hand in writing some of Fallon’s material through Twitter.

HBO came into the ceremony as the kingpin after claiming 17 awards at the Aug. 21 creative arts Emmys, followed by ABC with 15 and Fox with nine. CBS, NBC and PBS each claimed seven.

“The Pacific,” the World War II miniseries produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, was the top nominee and captured a leading seven creative arts awards, which recognize technical and other achievements.

Ratings for the awards have increased importance: The TV academy’s contract is up for renewal with the four major networks that had been airing the show in rotation for eight years, and the academy hopes last year’s 8 percent audience increase is a trend after an all-time low in 2008.

The show’s live nationwide broadcast and scheduling could be factors. The Emmys typically have aired immediately before TV’s mid-September kickoff, but NBC pushed up the awards telecast to avoid a conflict with its Sunday night National Football League games that begin Sept. 12.

But fewer people tend to watch summertime TV, and the 5 p.m. PDT pre-primetime slot for the Emmys on the West Coast also tends to draw a smaller audience.

The Emmy Awards is not just a parade for stars to show off overpriced couture frocks and sleek suits. It can also cause diabetes for the actors it awards?

Metaphorically, that is, according to Emmy king Bryan Cranston (though, judging from the sweets they provide backstage, onset diabetes is likely possible).

The “Breaking Bad” actor got his third statuette Sunday for his role as the cancer-stricken Walter White. And with him being ineligible for a chance next year — the AMC series doesn’t return until July 2011 — he’s enjoying the feast of Emmy gold while he can … even if it causes health problems.

“I'm so grateful. It's like having a great meal to do the show, and then to be awarded an Emmy is a beautiful flambĂ© dessert, and then last year was another dessert on top of that. I feel gluttonous. And it's more than I can take in. It really is. I feel like I'm going to become a diabetic. So it's actually a reprieve that I can relax next year and let things go. It really is.”

Bloom Energy

Bloom Box by Bloom Energy Shown on 60 Minutes – More and more companies nowadays are investing in green technology to become energy efficient. One of the rising companies in this field is Bloom Energy, a company based in Sunnyvale California providing solid oxide fuel cell technology and products for distributed electricity and hydrogen generation.

Bloom Energy announced its plans to raise $150 million in sixth-round capital to establish a market for its product called Bloom Box. Bloom Energy says it has booked most of this funding with Advanced Equities Investment. Bloom Energy’s planned Initial Public Offering or IPO has been valued at $1.45 billion.

So what is this product called Bloom Box and what makes it one of the most sought after energy efficient device by most huge corporations? Accordingly, Bloom Box is like an industrial-sized refrigerator, that sucks up oxygen on one side and fuel (natural gas, biomass, etc) on the other. Reports say that Bloom Energy bakes sand and cuts it into little squares that are turned into a ceramic, which are then coated with green and black “inks.” Using a special process,  Bloom Energy creates these ceramic discs and stacks them together interspersed with metal plates of “a cheap metal alloy.” The bigger the stack the more power the Bloom Box will create. Below is a picture of how Bloom Box looks like:

Since its launch last February, a lot of stock investors are now speculating that Bloom Box Fuel Cell would be the next Google in terms of stock price increase. Founded by a former NASA scientist, Bloom Energy is developing fuel cells for homes and businesses that produce clean, efficient electricity through chemical reactions.

In a press conference held last February, Bloom Energy revealed its Bloom Energy Fuel Cells saying that their fuel cells can take any of those fuels, and because of their unique chemistry, use that to produce electricity without the need for chemical plants. Several companies bought Bloom Box already as part of their investment to save energy which include eBay, Google, Lockheed, Wal-Mart, Staples and the CIA.

Below is a video of CBS News at 60 minutes of the controversial “Bloom Box”:

Eric Stonestreet

Eric Stonestreet  was nominated along with Chris Colfer of Glee, Neil Patrick Harris of How I Met Your Mother, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Ty Burrell of Modern Family and Jon Cryer of Two and a Half Men.

Eric Stonestreet was born on September 9, 1971 in Kansas City. Eric Stonestreet is an Emmy award winning actor from Kansas best known for his starring role as Cameron Tucker on the ABC comedy Modern Family. He has won an Emmy for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Modern Family.

Eric Stonestreet grew up far from the bright lights of Los Angeles. As a young man raising pigs, he never would have imagined that he would end up in Los Angeles as an actor. While attending Kansas State University, studying to be a prison administrator, his friend Paul dared Eric to audition for the play "Prelude to a Kiss". As fate would have it, Eric was cast in the play (in the smallest role) and was, as they say, bitten by the bug.

After graduating with a degree in Sociology, Eric Stonestreet moved to Chicago to study and perform theatre and improv. Chicago brought new challenges and lots of opportunities, and after spending two years working in television commercials and studying with both IO Chicago and The Second City, Eric Stonestreet decided to head west to further pursue his dream.

While performing improv with IO West, he continued working in commercials and started to build an impressive resume creating memorable characters on shows including: Dharma & Greg, Malcolm in the Middle, Party of Five, Spin City, ER, The West Wing, American Dad, Providence, Close To Home, Crossing Jordan and Bones. His most notable character is from his recurring turn as Ronnie Litre, the questionable documents tech, on the original CSI. Eric Stonestreet played series regular “Andrew Schoch“ opposite Robert Forster and Mathew Lillard in the Fox pilot “13 Graves.” Eric most recently guest starred in unique roles on television shows such as “The Mentalist,” “N.C.I.S.,” “Nip/Tuck” and “Pushing Daisies.”

Eric Stonestreet's success on television brought him the opportunity to break ground on the big screen as well. His breakout role came when he played, Sheldon the hotel desk clerk, in Cameron Crowe’s film “Almost Famous.” That small but memorable role opened many doors for Eric. In 2003 Eric starred in IFC’S cult classic, “Girls Will Be Girls”, which was an official selection to the Sundance Film Festival.

The 2010 edition of the Primetime Emmy Awards opened with a victory for Modern Family and Eric Stonestreet, who won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
