Cole Hamels

CINCINNATI -- As he stood there on that pitcher's mound Sunday night, history in his grasp, it was hard to remember the Cole Hamels of last October.

The Cole Hamels who put all those zeroes on the scoreboard Sunday night in Cincinnati was more like the 2008 edition, the World Series MVP edition, the reach-for-the-sky edition.

Only better.

So he's not to be confused with the 2009 model. … The guy with the 7.58 postseason ERA. … The guy who never got through the sixth inning in any of his four October starts. … The guy his team would have been terrified to start in Game 7 of the World Series, had there actually been a Game 7 of last year's World Series.

[+] EnlargeCole Hamels
Jonathan Daniel/Getty ImagesThe Cole Hamels who pitched for the Phillies last postseason? He hasn't been anywhere to be found so far this October.

That guy wore this same uniform only one year ago. But for the man who closed out the first postseason sweep in Phillies history Sunday night -- with the first complete-game shutout in a postseason clincher since Josh Beckett finished off the Yankees in 2003 -- it was proof of just how much can change in a year.

And just how much a man can learn from the darkest hours of his career.

"He went through a year like he'd never gone through before," Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said after Hamels' five-hit masterpiece, in a 2-0 win, had completed his team's three-game dismantling of the Reds.

"He'd never had a season, ever, where he did not have success," Amaro went on. "But he went through that in '09, didn't handle it maybe as well as he would have liked, learned from it, dealt with it in the offseason, prepared himself much better and came back to be the Cole of old."

But even the Cole of old never did what the Cole Hamels of 2010 did Sunday. True, the Cole of old was enough of a dominator to win himself both a World Series and an NLCS MVP trophy. But this Cole Hamels inscribed his name on a whole different page of the October history books.

The list of pitchers who walked into the other team's park and ended a postseason series with a complete-game shutout is a list that includes some of the most magical names in recent, and not-so-recent, baseball history:

In Cole Hamels' lifetime -- all 26 years of it -- only two other pitchers had done it. One was Beckett, in Yankee Stadium, in Game 6 of the 2003 World Series. The other was John Smoltz, in Pittsburgh, in Game 7 of the memorable 1991 NLCS. Both of those games put a stamp on their careers that never, ever faded with age.

But if you travel back to the beginning of postseason time, you find only 14 other names on this list. Names like & Sandy Koufax, in Minnesota, in Game 7 of the 1965 World Series. … And Ralph Terry, in San Francisco, in Game 7 of the '62 Series. … And Johnny Podres, in Yankee Stadium, in Game 7, 1955. … And Dizzy Dean, in Tiger Stadium, in Game 7, 1934.

Now obviously, unlike the men in that last paragraph, Hamels didn't paint his Mona Lisa in a Game 7, or in a World Series, let alone both. But in his own way, he might have outpitched all of those men.

In the history of the postseason, no one has ever pitched a series-clinching complete-game shutout with this few hits (five), this many strikeouts (nine) and not a single walk. But Cole Hamels did.

He was pitching against the best lineup in the National League. But like Roy Halladay before him, by the time Hamels was through doing his thing, it was tough to tell the Reds from the Tri-City Dust Devils.

This was Cole Hamels' show, from first act to last. Four of the five hits he allowed were ground-ball singles. Only two Reds made it past first base. Nobody got beyond second base. He ran just four three-ball counts, never more than one in an inning. He never allowed more than one baserunner in any inning.

Now compare that to the Cole Hamels who gave up 25 hits in 19 innings last postseason. Compare his 119-pitch efficiency to the guy who huffed and puffed his way through 94 pitches in 4 1/3 innings in Game 5 of last year's NLCS. The name on the back of his uniform still says "Hamels." But make no mistake about it. This is not the same man.

"He's so mentally strong right now," closer Brad Lidge said. "Not that he wasn't pitching well last year. I just feel like this year he's just gone to that next level. He just stays locked in for the entire game. I really felt tonight like, from pitch one to the last pitch, he didn't change his demeanor or his approach one iota. It didn't matter what was happening behind him. It didn't matter that we missed a pop foul that fell in. Whatever. He just went right back to work.

"He was like a machine tonight. That, to me, is the difference this year. He's always had great stuff. But he's running like a machine right now."

Since the beginning of July, Cole Hamels now has a 2.15 ERA. Not a single left-handed starter in baseball can beat that. The best hitters on earth have batted just .219 against him in that span. He's piled up 130 strikeouts, and only 28 walks, in 125 1/3 innings.

"I think this year he came back with something to prove," teammate Ryan Howard said. "I'm not necessarily sure whether he wanted to prove it to every else or to himself. But you could see it in his work ethic since last offseason. He was determined to get back to this level."

But until his special Sunday night on the prime-time October stage, had anyone outside his own city and his own clubhouse really noticed?

It's both Cole Hamels' great fortune -- and misfortune -- to pitch for a team that collects aces the way some people collect autographs. So with the Phillies airlifting a Halladay or a Roy Oswalt into town every few months, you'd have to have been paying awfully close attention to catch onto the fact that Hamels has been as good as either of them for months now.

But October has a way of correcting those sorts of oversights. And three games into this little tournament, it's frighteningly apparent what the Phillies have going for them these days.

As the rubble of this series settled around him Sunday night, Reds manager Dusty Baker compared the Phillies' rotation to the Jim Palmer-Dave McNally-Mike Cuellar Orioles -- of four decades ago. Phillies manager Charlie Manuel invoked the names of the holy Maddux-Smoltz-Glavine trinity.

Got any other legendary groups you'd like to toss in there? Be our guest. This conversation will be raging for as long as the Phillies are playing this month. And you can start the conversation with the exhibition these men put on over the past week.

• Just in this series, Halladay and Hamels became the first teammates to twirl complete-game shutouts in the same postseason series since Vida Blue and Ken Holtzman did it for Oakland in the 1974 LCS.

• No National League team had gotten shutouts by teammates in the same series since Koufax and Claude Osteen did it for the Dodgers in the '65 World Series.

• And only one other team had ever had more than one pitcher throw a shutout in a postseason sweep -- the 1966 Orioles, who had Palmer, McNally and Wally Bunker all do it in a blitz of the Dodgers.

As most of you will be aware, Sunday is the day when Apple iOS 4.1 jailbreaking tool GreenPois0n finally sees a release. We have a collection of links for where you’ll be able to download it once it goes live.
Considering the sheer amount of interest shown so far with GreenPois0n, it is safe to say that the official website is going to take a pounding once Chronic Dev-Team posts the download links.
It may be worth getting the link from another location, especially if you don’t want to experience slow download speeds. RedmondPie has already said they’ll be providing a link, while another GreenPois0n website will also provide a link for you.
As we stated before, GreenPois0n is for the iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4 and iPad only. If you have an iPhone 3G or 3GS, do not try and install GreenPois0n, as it will probably brick your device. Don’t forget there is a new jailbreak in progress for the 3GS, read more on that here.
Below is a roundup of links of where the download will be once it is released tomorrow (10/10/10 10.10am)

Jung Siah : SHINee’s Taemin Ideal Type

On the latest recording of KBS 2TV's "Happy Birthday", Taemin said, "I look at a girl's personality before her appearance" and "My ideal type is a girl who's like a sunflower, always looking at me." MC Lee Soogeun asked which cast member was closest to his ideal type. Taemin chose Jung Siah, the wife of Baek Yoonshik's son, Baek Dobin. He revealed, "It's nice to see her praising her husband and being so proud of him, which shows that she sincerely loves him.

Then Key of SHINee picked Big Mama Lee Hyejung as his ideal type. He stated, "I like how she is confident and how she takes care of herself dilligently. MC Lee Kyungkyu made everyone burst into after by adding, "The ways that idols avoid scandals are quite diverse."

The show will air on November 11th at 11:15PM.

T/N 1: The sunflower reference is used since sunflowers only look at the sun.
Saying someone is a sunflower means that person only looks at you.

T/N 2: MC Kyungkyu makes that comment because Jung Siah is married.
Big Mama Lee Hyejung is not from the quartet, but a famous Korean chef.
I think she's 55 years old. SHINee avoids scandals with... married women and grandmothers?!

George Negus will front TEN’s new 6pm news-based programme in 2011.
His confirmation follows news of his exit from SBS at the end of the year.
Negus, 68, said: “It’s a tough time slot and entrenched viewing habits for a lot of people. I hope the reappearance of my estranged, some would say ugly dial, invading people’s living rooms at that time of night will encourage them to watch, not discourage them.”
The national programme will replace The Simpsons, which moves to Eleven, as part of TEN’s early evening revamp. The network will have 2.5 hrs of news beginning with TEN News at 5pm and ending with The 7PM Project.
ABC journalist Chris Masters has signed as a part-time editorial consultant.
“Chris is a great get. He will add the substance that they’re looking for at the investigative level. There’s no one better in the country to do that.”
The show will seek to give a more in-depth look at news, with panel interviews, longer stories and allow Negus to hit the road.
UPDATED: Joining the show are Hugh Riminton, Max Futcher, Danielle Isdale, Emily Rice and Emma Dallimore, who will remain based in the United States. TEN is yet to title the new programme but it has named its 6:30 offering TEN’s Evening News.
Negus remains with Dateline on SBS until the end of the year.

LSU Football Schedule 2010

LSU Football Schedule 2010 - Auburn Footbal :
Sept. 4 vs. North Carolina, at the Georgia Dome
It's the toughest opener LSU has had since Virginia Tech in 2002. The Tar Heels have five potential NFL first-round picks on defense and 19 starters returning overall. But two of their stars -- defensive tackle Marvin Austin and leading receiver Greg Little -- are waiting on the status of an NCAA investigation dealing with improper contact with an agent. Pending the result, both might have to sit the game out. The quarterback job still is unsettled. T.J. Yates threw for 2,136 yards and 14 touchdowns, but he also threw 15 interceptions. Redshirt freshman Bryn Renner completed 15 of 21 passes for 184 yards in the spring game.
Sept. 11 at Vanderbilt
The Commodores could follow a 2-10 season with an 0-12 mark. A rash of injuries has depleted the starting lineup and Bobby Johnson's resignation in late July may have a negative effect. The Commodores have one of the SEC's best linebackers in Chris Marve, who led the conference with an average of 10.1 tackles per game. The quarterback spot is in flux with returnee Larry Smith getting pressure from Jordan Rodgers, younger brother of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Vandy was hit hard by injuries last year and again is struggling with depth.
Sept. 18 vs. Mississippi State
Dan Mullen had the Bulldogs inches from defeating the Tigers last year and is coming off a season-ending 41-27 victory against Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl. It's yet another LSU opponent with a quarterback issue. Chris Relf and Tyler Russell are battling and again might wind up splitting time. The Bulldogs will miss underrated running back Anthony Dixon, who rushed for 1,391 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. Chad Bumphis is the most reliable receiver but will have to improve on his 32 catches. The defense has eight starters returning, the best of which is end Pernell McPhee.
Sept 25 vs. West Virginia
It's the first meeting between the schools in football. Eighteen starters return, but the Mountaineers' quarterback position is unstable with two sophomores and two freshmen in the mix. The Mountaineers have one of the nation's best running backs in Noel Devine, who rushed for 1,465 yards and 13 touchdowns on 241 carries last year. Nine starters are back on the defense, which runs an unusual 3-3-5 scheme. End Julian Miller had nine sacks and 6-foot-5 safety Robert Sands had five interceptions a year ago. The Mountaineers can be tough in a close game, too. Kicker Tyler Bitancurt made 13 of 15 field-goal attempts last year.
Oct. 2 vs. Tennessee
The Tigers catch the Vols in the second consecutive year of backsliding. Tennessee it trying to get by this season with a depleted roster of 70-something scholarship players instead of the full 85. All five starting offensive linemen are gone, as are the starting quarterback and top rusher. Two defensive linemen were lost for the season in spring practice. And to top it off, the Vols have rookie head coach Derek Dooley, a former Tigers assistant and Nick Saban protégé. Junior-college quarterback Matt Simms, son of former New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms, has won the job. The Vols have five offensive starters back and six on defense.
Oct. 9 at Florida
No one may be happier about the post-Tim Tebow era at Florida than LSU, which went 1-3 in that span. He was perhaps LSU's most frustrating opposing signal-caller since Ole Miss' Archie Manning. But Gator coaches are high on his replacement, John Brantley, and Jeff Demps and Chris Rainey are more than capable runners. Florida has not been taking the recruiting season off, as there are numerous five-star players waiting in the wings. Brantley will be looking for wide receiver Deonte Thompson to soften the blow of being without the team's top three pass catchers from a year ago. The defense has five starters back, including standout cornerback Janoris Jenkins. The Gators will still be the class of the East Division.
Oct. 16 vs. McNeese State
The Cowboys are playing the Tigers for the first time and it may not be pretty, but the visiting fans are eager. All 6,000 tickets allotted to McNeese State have been sold, a better performance than Louisiana-Lafayette's contingent, which is an hour closer. The Cowboys' best chance is to lock up the Tigers defensively and hold on. Ten starters are back from the Southland co-champs' 2009 team. Tackle Desmund Lighten anchors the front, and corners London Durham and George Russell are solid. The Cowboys lost most of their offensive firepower, including quarterback and Southland Conference Player of the Year Derrick Fourroux. Tulsa transfer Jacob Bower will replace Fourroux.
Oct. 23 at Auburn
The "other" Tigers are a wild card in Gene Chizik's second season. He made progress last season and put a scare into Alabama in the Iron Bowl. The offense will have a strong line to build around, led by senior guard Lee Ziemba. Florida transfer Cameron Newton is a big and talented QB but has yet to take a meaningful snap in the SEC. The running game will be in the hands of senior Mario Fannin and super freshman Michael Dyer. Freshman Trovon Reed, a former Thibodaux High School standout, turned heads in camp and will get snaps at wide receiver. Eight starters return from a defense that was 11th in the league (374.1 yards allowed per game).
Nov. 6 vs. Alabama
The Tide bears the burden of being No. 1 in the nation with a defense that needs total rebuilding. Alabama's offense scored 13 touchdowns against it in the first fall scrimmage. Donta' Hightower steps in for Rolando McClain at linebacker, but the status of end Marcel Dareus (alleged dealings with an agent) is unknown because of an NCAA investigation. The secondary may take some early lumps. The offense has returning Heisman Trophy-winner Mark Ingram and a backup, Trent Richardson, who looks just as good. There's also star wide receiver Julio Jones (101 catches, 1,520 yards, eight TDs in two seasons) and fifth-year senior quarterback Greg McElroy, who is 14-0 as a starter.
Nov. 13 vs. UL-Monroe
The Warhawks are rebuilding on defense under first-year coach Todd Berry and have three SEC schools on the docket, including Arkansas and Auburn. Yet another quarterback battle is being waged as redshirt freshman Kolton Browning unseated senior Trey Revell, at least for now. The Warhawks have strong running backs returning, including Frank Goodin, who had 1,126 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. The defense has to replace seven starters.
Nov. 20 vs. Ole Miss
The Rebels may need more help than Jeremiah Masoli, the former Oregon quarterback who transferred to the Rebels after being dismissed by the Ducks. Ole Miss will miss running back Dexter McCluster, who carried the offense last season. The Rebs have nine starters back, but only three on offense. The defensive line is solid with tackle Jerrell Powe and end Kentrell Lockett.
Nov. 27 at Arkansas
This game could determine who finishes second to Alabama in the West Division. LSU and Arkansas consistently play close games, two of the past three going into overtime. The Hogs have the most prolific quarterback in the league in Ryan Mallett, who could be well above 3,000 yards by the regular-season finale. The top five receivers, including tight end D.J. Williams, are back, and four of the top five running backs. The sticking point for Arkansas is the defense. The Hogs were last in total defense in the SEC, allowing 401 yards per game.

Welcome random search engine visitor. Many philosophies believe that you somehow ended up on this page for a reason. It is not known if it is the result of predestination, random chance, fate, a higher power, or something else.
This article provides a synopsis of the possible implications of the 10/10/10 date singularity, and of the number ten; followed by a quick metaphysics experiment.
Reference List: 101010, Mathematics, Binary, Chaos Theory, Fractals, Psychology.
Reference List: Metaphysics, Paranormal, Fate, Destiny, Random Chance, a Higher Power.
Reference List: Prediction, Predictions.
10/10/10; Sunday, October 10, 2010: Mathematics
101010 (base two (binary)) equals 42 (base ten). Oddly enough, this is evenly divisible by the number of days in a week (7 (lucky)); and equally oddly, is also evenly divisible by the number 6 (which is generally designated as being unlucky). Both a Ying and Yang situation seem to be incorporated into this date.
10 (base ten) = 1010 (base two)
(base ten): 10 x 10 = 100
(base two): 10 x 10 = 100
The binary attributes of 101010 lends itself to use by the sciences of fractals (recursive geometric shapes) and chaos theory (the butterfly effect).

10/10/10; Sunday, October 10, 2010: Psychology
The number ten seems to give people that warm, fuzzy feeling:
“I won TEN thousand dollars!”
“I got TEN things done today.”
Then of course, there are the ever ubiquitous Top Ten lists. The top Top-Ten lists are (in no particular order):

The Dark Ages spanned the 5th to 15th centuries (approximately 450 -1450).
10/10/10; Sunday, October 10, 2010: Singularity Summary
Most predictions and opinions concerning 10/10/10 are based on or are rooted in its mathematical uniqueness as a number.
101010: There are three possible outcomes:
1. Something good happens— There is absolutely no scientific basis for this belief. There are no known logical premises for this belief. The belief that something good will happen is based solely on spiritualism, faith, and/or innate optimism. This belief is not necessarily a bad thing; we don’t know everything; the probability is not zero.
2. Nothing happens— This is the most likely scenario. Just because an unusual date number sequence occurs doesn’t mean that something will happen. Usually it’s a non-event.
3. Something bad happens— There is absolutely no scientific basis for this belief. There are no known logical premises for this belief. The belief that something bad will happen is based solely on pessimism of reality. This belief is not necessarily false; after all, things are generally/usually a mess. The probability is not zero

Secretariat Horse Movie Review

True history of the sport are often inspiring, usually entertaining, and largely predictable. Disney release this weekend is all the above - and it's very good to me.

"Secretariat" is the true story of Penny Chenery (Diane Lane) and the possibility that she took both her father's horse breeding operations and horse named Secretariat. To save the farm of his father, Chenery took $ 6 million risk of getting investors to buy the rights to dilution of the Secretariat on the proviso that he will win all three Triple Crown races: a feat not achieved within 25 years.

Although this film was billed as "not a true story", which gives a kind of game is far, risks, and family strains and the omnipresent possibility of failure keep you on the edge of your seat (or at least in the center) of the whole movie.

However, the story was not enough to make this stand out from the dozens of other 'good-sports movie. " No, this film edges ahead in many ways a horse trainer Lucien Laurin, one of the best roles, John Malkovich's. Lucien French-Canadian was widely recognized as a talented, but without a win in his name. His eccentricity (shown in classic fashion with his outrageous clothes, but shines in his speech and behavior, a) a single film, which makes it a pleasure from his first appearance on the screen until the end.

And when it comes to opponents, Nestor Serrano (Pancho Martin) shines as the villainous, talks to a lot, boasting the owner of the horse favored to win the Triple Crown races. This is rarely so nice to see people lose ... I mean ... if he loses. I've said too much, not that he was a secret.

But, as a family flick, I find several setbacks. The first is the length. At 2 o'clock, "the Secretariat" does not just build up to the final, decisive race. Instead, we get 4 or 5 different races, each with its own, the emotional construction, full race, and reaction time. On the actual final race, I really do not want to go through this again.

And Penny chooses a horse on her family. The family is suffering for some time, but her husband, Jack (Dylan Walsh), steps in as Mr. Mom to keep their four children happy and together and to participate in school performances and other important events. However, Penny spends his dreams, dreams she's clearly given up to raise a family. So now it's their turn to get her and her family are forced to live with it. They come to recognize that their mother is now known and will be far more often than not, and they even became proud of her, but I was concerned that it does not offer any time or effort to help with the transition.

But overall themes were inspiring, and feel good, and the story is really impossible, as when it happened and to this day. Adults will love the "Secretariat". Teens can. And you can leave children at home, not to watch them squirm in their seats.

Steve Spurrier

It's hard to tease out how much of this game can be credited to great play by South Carolina and how much can be blamed on Alabama's mistakes. The Tide made plenty of mistakes -- a missed extra point, a missed field goal, a fake field goal attempt that featured the receiver dropping the ball -- but also ran into a team that was playing its best game of the Steve Spurrier Era. The win might actually be the best in South Carolina's 118-year football history.

It is certainly the biggest. With one fell swoop, South Carolina has reshaped the race for both the SEC East and the SEC West. Alabama still has to run the same gauntlet it always had to run -- games at LSU and against Auburn bookend November -- but has lost its margin for error. And Arkansas is back in the race with the next Alabama loss, depending on how the Razorbacks navigate their own schedule and how the tiebreakers fall.

As for that best game of the Spurrier Era: Stephen Garcia was almost flawless, going 17-of-20 for 201 yards and three touchdowns, his only interception being more of a great play by Alabama than a mistake on Garcia's part. (He did make one notable and almost significant mistake: Throwing the ball out of the back of the end zone for a safety that cut the lead to 10 when he could have fallen on the ball instead.) Alshon Jeffery was on the other end of most of those passes, with seven catches for 127 yards and a pair of scores. Marcus Lattimore didn't break the Alabama defense's streak of holding the other team's leading rusher to less than 100 yards, but he came close enough with 93 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries. And the defense sacked McElroy seven times en route to limiting the Alabama ground game to 1.2 yards a carry.

Not that Alabama's offense played poorly. The Tide actually outgained South Carolina by 40 yards. Greg McElroy was too slow to throw the ball at times -- is it too much to call those instances Garcia-esque? -- and was 27-of-34 for 315 yards and two touchdowns. (He also had a critical fumble that set up South Carolina's third touchdown, giving South Carolina a 21-3 lead.)

There were, though, coaching miscues. Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson got the ball 17 times. Granted, it was hard to get Ingram and Richardson involved in the fourth quarter, as the game got away from Alabama. But there were more opportunities to use them earlier in the game. McElroy had already attempted 21 passes by the half, when there was still plenty of time to catch up with the ground game.

Then, there was the the fake field goal at the South Carolina 25 early in the fourth quarter. I can see both sides of the argument that I'm sure will play out for several days in the Alabama media and blogosphere. Nick Saban had watched his kicker miss an extra point and a 31-yard field goal; why not go for it instead of trying a 42-yard kick when you're down a touchdown to begin with? But an unsuccessful field goal was a momentum boost for the Gamecocks, who were reeling as the big halftime lead had almost evaporated. Again, this will be discussed more than enough for everyone involved over the next week.

But maybe it doesn't matter. Maybe the win that shook up the entire SEC and reshaped the national title race can best be summed up by what Steve Spurrier said after the game.

Pumpkin Carving Stencils

If, you know Seattle then you know of the community of Fremont.  If, you haven’t spent time in Seattle, WA here is a little history.  In the north end of Seattle is the community of Fremont, as you enter, there is a sign which declares that Fremont is the center of the universe and tells you to set you watch ahead 5 minutes, (Fremont has it’s own time zone).  Fremont prides itself on being a lot quirky, with a large bronze statue of Lenin (the Marxist revolutionary), a rocket ship and a large concrete troll nestled under a bridge, and every year during Oktober Fest, Fremont hosts the Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving Contest.

In true Fremont fashion, the Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving contest is full of colorful people, and a new approach to traditional pumpkin carving.  The Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving Contest is just that, pumpkin, carver, and a big ole chainsaw.  The contestants have 3 minutes to carve their pumpkin, and win the audience over with their skits, costumes and carving skills.

It is never a wise idea to take a front row seat at this event, pumpkin guts and seeds fly through the air and land where they may, sometimes 10 feet away.  Loud, messy and a whole lot of fun.  This event has become a favorite and has been taking place for 12 years now, this years Oktober Fest was held Sept 24th through the 26th.

Alabama vs. South Carolina 2010

The Alabama vs. South Carolina 2010 game ended badly for Alabama. This Alabama vs. South Carolina 2010 game will shake the

college football rankings for week 7 when they come out on Sunday, and it could shape the rest of the season for the Crimson Tide. South Carolina came into the game with a 3-1 record and a No. 19 ranking in the latest college football rankings. Even with the game taking place in Columbia, South Carolina, it seemed like this should be one that Alabama would win. That didn't even come close to happening though, as South Carolina controlled the game from early in the first quarter, and didn't look back until they had beaten Alabama 35-21.

The Alabama vs. South Carolina 2010 game came down to the rushing defense of South Carolina, which absolutely shut down the running game of Alabama. In the first five games of the season for Alabama, Trent Richardson and Mark Ingram had run over every team they had played. These are two running backs that could each go for more than 100 yards on any given night, but South Carolina didn't even let Alabama get to 100 yards total on the ground. The end game stats had Alabama totaling 36 rushing yards on 29 carries, for an embarrassing average of just 1.2 yards per carry. That just isn't going to get it done in the SEC, and it certainly didn't get it done against South Carolina. Then there was running back Marcus Lattimore for South Carolina who ran for 93 yards and two touchdowns of his own.

Alabama lost their first game of the season, but more importantly, they are about to throw the college football rankings into complete chaos on Sunday. In both polls, Alabama was

the clear favorite of voters, getting all but one first place vote in the latest AP Top 25. With Alabama posting a loss, it means that either Ohio State or Oregon is most likely to take over as the No. 1 ranked team in the country, but it is unclear which school will take over at the top. If things work like they are supposed to, then Ohio State will be No. 1, and Oregon will take over as the No. 2 ranked team in the nation. That's not always what happens when the human element comes into play, and when voters can basically do anything they want. Things will clear up when the first 2010 BCS standings come out, but for now, things are about to get very muddled.

David Bruce Mcmahan Daughter Video

David Bruce McMahan is a philanthropist and financier who has supported initiatives to help the disabled internationally, the arts and land conservation. He is also an incestuous father, according to his daughter, Linda Schutt.
Apparently he threatened Tony Ortega, the editor-in-chief of The Village Voice, to haul him into court.
As Tony says, referring to McMahan’s legal action:
“I found out the other day that you’ve appealed a judge’s decision after he agreed with me that I shouldn’t have to testify in your pathetic legal action against your former fifth wife. In 2007, our writer interviewed that wife and now you’re trying to drag us into court, saying that merely talking to her violated the conditions of some no-doubt sadistic gag order you had her under.
But we both know why you really want to get me under oath. You have never gotten over our 2006 article that outed your years-long sexual relationship with one of your daughters, which culminated in the bizarre “wedding” you had with her in Westminster Abbey.”

Strangers On a Train Jump Off

It is regrettable that a classic is only recalled when there is a dowdy spin-off, bit that’s the way things are. Hitchock ’s classic Strangers On a Train is now being remade in a teen avatar. The original novel by Patricia Highsmith on which Strangers On a Train was based, had two strangers who both had been spurned by their lovers, plan a criss-cross kill so that neither could be implicated with a valid motive.

The title for the new version is Teens On a Train. Hitchock buffs who are already cringing should stop reading here, the rest is a gross butchering of the beloved film. The teen movie has a boy meet girl oh so fresh plot where they meet on a train and they become star crossed lovers. Yawn. And the big fat twist is that the guy is a homicidal lunatic.

Looks like the only loon out here is the Teens On a Train who would make any Hitchock aficionado jump off a train in despair. Should have the man sued for culpable homicide. They are also stealing a smattering of ideas from Before Sunrise by Richard Linklater. Obviously their scriptwriter bolted screaming in despair and since then the producers have been doing an autopilot job with the storyline, savaging classics relentlessly.

These guys should look at the stats which say that every Hitchock knock off so far has bombed, and been panned and mauled by the critics to boot. So, lay off.
