The director died Tuesday night, a day after his 88th birthday, leaving behind films — most notably “Bonnie and Clyde” and “Little Big Man” — that refashioned movie and American history, made and broke myths and sealed a generation’s affinity for outsiders.
Daughter Molly Penn said her father died at his home in Manhattan of congestive heart failure. A memorial service will be held by year’s end, longtime friend and business manager Evan Bell said Wednesday.
Penn — younger brother of the photographer Irving Penn — first made his name on Broadway as director of the Tony Award–winning plays “The Miracle Worker” and “All the Way Home,” then rose as a film director in the 1960s, his work inspired by the decade’s political and social upheaval.
“Bonnie and Clyde,” with its mix of humor and mayhem, encouraged moviegoers to sympathize with the marauding robbers, while “Little Big Man” told the tale of the conquest of the West with the Indians as the good guys.
“A society would be wise to pay attention to the people who do not belong if it wants to find out … where it’s failing,” Penn said.

BANGOR — The Bangor High School football team forced five turnovers and limited Mt. Blue of Farmington’s potent passing attack to just 17 yards while remaining undefeated with a 39-7 Class A football victory at Cameron Stadium on Saturday.
Bangor (5-0) cruised to victory despite losing starting tailback and defensive end Josiah Hartley to a possible head injury midway through the second quarter.
But coach Mark Hackett’s club controlled the game with its defense, with three of the five turnovers leading to touchdown drives of 32, 7 and 7 yards.
Bangor defensive end John Kelley had two interceptions on Mt. Blue quarterback Jordan Whitney’s first two passes of the game, and Zeb Tuell added another interception that led to a fourth-quarter touchdown.
The Rams also had two fumble recoveries, one by Tyler Shanklin and the other on special teams by Ian Roberts.
Bangor’s offense, meanwhile, managed 303 total yards on the windy day. Hartley rushed for 89 yards on 17 carries before leaving the contest, while Cody Chapman added 68 yards on three fourth-quarter tries — the final carry a 59-yard touchdown run with 20.1 seconds remaining.
Wyatt Frost replaced Hartley in the lineup and added 43 yards and two rushing touchdowns, while quarterback Joe Seccareccia passed for 69 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 29 yards and another score.
Mt. Blue, playing without injured starting tailback Izaiha Tracy, had its only bright spot early in the second quarter when Cam Sennick raced 74 yards for his team’s only touchdown.
Frost returned the game’s opening kickoff 68 yards to set up Bangor’s first score, a 15-yard pass to Hartley in the left flat on a fourth-and-9 play with 9:11 left in the first quarter.
On the second play after the kickoff, Kelley stepped in front of a Whitney pass in the right flat and made the interception to give Bangor the ball at the Mt. Blue 32.
Hartley rushed for 7 yards on the next play, the scored by going off left tackle the final 25 yards to the end zone to make it 13-0 with 7:41 left in the opening period.
Kelley intercepted a Whitney pass again along the sideline and returned it to the Mt. Blue 7 two possessions later, leading to a 1-yard sneak by Seccareccia to extend Bangor’s lead to 19-0 with 1:50 left in the quarter.
Sennick’s long run — which accounted for more than one-third of Mt. Blue’s 204 total yards — closed the gap to 19-7 with 9:41 left in the first half, but Bangor answered with a 12-play, 67-yard march to push its lead back to 25-7 on a 3-yard run by Frost with 4:24 left in the second quarter. Seccareccia kept the drive alive with two third-down pass completions to Kelly, one for 17 yards and the second for a 21-yard gain to the Mt. Blue 7.
Bangor added two fourth-quarter touchdowns, the first after Tuell intercepted a pass at the Bangor 38 and returned it 55 yards to the Mt. Blue 7. Frost then scored from the 1 on a fourth-and-goal play.

Nazca Lines The Mystery

Along the coast of Peru, around 250 miles from Lima, the Nazca Lines encompass an area once occupied by an extremely developed society, which adopted advanced farming methods to allow for irrigation systems, improved crops and an expansion of farming land. The Nazca tribe were immensely skilled not only in agricultural techniques but also in art. They displayed outstanding skills in weaving, pottery, and architecture, however were sadly unable to ward off the vicious attacks of the Spanish conquest and were rapidly defeated. Undoubtedly the most resounding symbol of this ancient tribe is the Nazca Lines.
Although the purpose of these ground drawings has not been fully established many archaeologists ascribe religious significance to them as the lines are thought to have been attempt by the Nazca people to display their work to their gods in the sky. Another theory maintains that the lines had astronomical and cosmological purposes and that they were intended to act as a kind of observatory, to point to the places on the distant horizon where the sun and other celestial bodies rose or set.
An usual conclusion came to the fore in the 1950s when UFO sightings began to increase. Many people looked back to ancient symbols and artefacts as example of extraterrestrial activity, the Nazca Lines provided one of these examples. One writer suggested that the Lines were intended as signals to interplanetary visitors. While this theory is highly sceptical it displays the interest and mystery surrounding these elusive drawings.
While the meaning of the lines is still unknown their construction is slightly easier to comprehend. The Lines were made by removing the reddish-brown iron oxide-coated pebbles that cover the surface of the Nazca desert. It was because of the area’s dry and stable climate that most of the drawings have remained unchanged over time. The work underwent in creating these lines was vast. Spanning an area of nearly 500 square km and with the largest figure approximately 270m, the Nazca tribesmen embarked on a huge and complex task.
Interestingly the enormity of the Nazca Lines took several years to be discovered. Many people walked along the geoglyphs unaware of the significance of what their feet were touching. While the lines made for unimpressive and meaningless scribbles at ground level, by plane the gigantic figures and lines could be fully realised.
While the Lines are one of the few surviving reminders of the ancient world many are unsure how much longer they will survive. Due to an increase in pollution and erosion in the area many fear that the Nazca Lines could be gradually erased.
The Nazca Lines serve as further reminder of the immense and powerful talent and skills of the ancient civilisations. The sheer scale of the drawings propels the Lines into awe´-inspiring magnificence. An unmissable experience, to view these Lines is truly to view the beauty of the world.

In its highest-profile game of the season so far, Stanford’s football team fell flat on Saturday night at Oregon, losing 52-31.
The No. 9 Cardinal (4-1, 1-1 Pac-10) started the game well, building a 21-3 lead over the No. 4 Ducks (5-0, 2-0) early in the game. However, Oregon came back to pull within a touchdown at halftime, then roar past Stanford in the second half. The Card failed to score in the half while the Ducks ran roughshod over the Stanford defense.
The loss puts Oregon into the driver’s seat for the Pac-10 conference title, while the Cardinal’s hopes for its first Rose Bowl berth in over a decade have taken a serious hit.
Look for full coverage of Stanford’s game against Oregon in Monday’s issue of The Stanford Daily.

Cameron Winklevoss and his twin brother Tyler were once classmates of Facebook CEO Marc Zuckerberg.
That is where the story begins. Cameron Winklevoss has made claims for years that Zuckerburg stole their idea for the internet site Facebook.
This is all coming to light now with the release of the blockbuster movie ‘The Social Network” which is now in theraters all over the country.
Winklevoss had Zuckerburg create a website called HavardConnect.com for them. Zuckerburg then turned it into Facebook. Winklevoss has seen the movie and suggests everybody go see it and see the story behind Facebook.
The Winklevoss twins are also famous as they were Olympic rowers for The United States.

There’s a lot of buzz about who is Erica Albright. The character played by the beautiful Rooney Mara (See: Rooney Mara and how she became the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) is gaining a lot of attention for just being the ex of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Yet the fame for Mara’s role as Albright may not stem from her incredible acting skills. It is more like people asking what happened to Albright? And more importantly, how could a girl like Albright let go of someone who would later become on of the Billionaires of United States of America?
Related Trendy News: The Social Network Review Erica Albright is She Real?
There is the possibility however that most of the story in the movie “the Social Network” may be fiction and that Erica Albright may not be real at all. Or if she is, her real name was not used in the movie for fear of legal actions.
Fame and Fake website and twitter account
Still some are trying to cash in on the fame of Zuckerberg’s alleged girlfriend. Already a website EricaAlbright.com floated in the internet with the content
This is the OFFICIAL website for Erica Albright (Yes the Erica Albright who was dating Mark Zuckerberg the founder of the Social Networking website Facebook) — Please send a link to my website to just 7 of your friends! (: — Keep checking back often to see all of the updates! This Page will be updated often! Follow me on Twitter — Soon I will post REAL photos of me (I’m not as pretty as the girl who portrayed me in The Social Network movie). lolKeywords (this is for the search engines so please ignore this) (:erica albright. erica, albright, facebook, facebook girlfriend, facebook gf, mark zuckerberg, mark zuckerberg girlfriend, the social network girl
There is even an Erica Albright twitter account created October 1, 2010. Is this the real Erica Albright? A quick look Whois Domain Tools show the creator of the website EricaAlbright.com
Whoever Dave Desvousges is, he has a lot of guts making a website about Mark Zuckerberg’s alleged girlfriend. What do you think? Is EricaAlbright.com for real?

With Marvel's "The Avengers" on the horizon, many fans are wondering when DC Entertainment will announce a "Justice League" film. There's no indication of when or if such an announcement will be made, but fans nearly had a "Justice League" movie to call their own three years ago before it got canceled — largely thanks to the Writers Guild of America strike in 2007.
"The Social Network" star Armie Hammer was one of the young actors cast in "Justice League Mortal," a film that never got off the ground but came quite close. Hammer, who would have played Batman in the film, recently spoke with MTV News and recalled the events that led up to the project's termination.
"We had gotten a long way into pre-production," said Hammer about the ill-fated Australia-set production. "We were about to start shooting when the writer's strike happened at the end of 2007, and then the Australian government denied a 40% tax rebate that they thought they were going to have, so a lot of things just when wrong."
"It's unfortunate," he continued, "because the amount of work that was already done — I mean, they had finished pre-production and they were a couple of days away from starting to shoot, so it's a shame that nobody got to see all of the work that got put into it."
But Hammer has a positive outlook on the situation, taking a silver lining away from the film's cancellation: "At the same time, it was a great experience to get to go to Australia for a month and a half!"
On top of that, it's hard to complain about playing the Caped Crusader, even if Hammer only wore the superhero's costume a handful of times in pre-production.
"I loved it," Hammer said of wearing Batman's costume. "But I didn't even get a picture of it!

The recent news that we could be seeing new iPhone devices soon has created some more buzz, and while the devices shown in Apple TV’s firmware could result in many outcomes, those wanting the iPhone on Verizon, Sprint or T-Mobile are getting a little excited.
Waiting for Apple to release a Verizon Wireless iPhone may have carried on a little too long, some users have seen the new Android Smartphone’s and jumped ship. The White iPhone 4 wait has also encouraged this to happen, although there are those that will stay true to Apple for as long as it takes.
January 2011 is a month that some people are still pinning a Verizon iPhone release on, although it will not tie in with Apple’s traditional June unveil and some users point to AT&T’s exclusivity deal that should run to 2012. This deal is not clean cut; some people feel that Apple could write a check at anytime with an out-clause.
If there was such an out-clause, could you see Apple releasing the iPhone to other networks by writing a large check? We do not expect that to happen in 2010, but maybe with an iPhone 5 in June 2011.

The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game (2006) by Michael Lewis is primarily about Michael Oher, who was an incredible American Football prospect for the NFL. The book also delves into modern American Football tactics and the evolution of the Left Tackle defensive position.
Oher was the product of a completely broken home, his father was alway absent and his mother had a chronic substance abuse problem and had at least 10 children with numerous fathers. Oher’s neighborhood in Memphis was a portrait of dysfunction. Oher barely attended school for years. Eventually he and another boy got admission to Briarcrest Christian school. Oher’s sporting talent and poverty attracted attention. He was adopted Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, managed to get the grades to play football and basketball for the school and became a high school football sensation. He then went on to college and eventually made the NFL.
Oher is 1.93 m tall and weights 142kg and is superbly coordinated, making him ideal for the position of Left Tackle. In the 1970s Bill Walsh changed his offence to emphasize short passing more than running. This West Coast Offence was very successful. The counter to the West Coast Offence was to have a very fast linebacker capable of tackling the quarterback as exemplified by Lawrence Taylor. In turn, to counter this problem the Left Tackle position became far more important as this player is meant to stop the linebacker.
The book skillfully blends the description of football tactics and Oher’s story. Oher is the primary focus though and Lewis’ depiction of Oher and his circumstances is outstanding. Lewis describes how while Oher made it out of poverty and social disaster most people like him do not. Lewis also describes just how bizarre the US sporting system is with high school football and college football having such a huge role. For anyone interested in the US it’s worth reading. I’m not a fan of American Football but the tactical discussion in the book is really well done and is interesting for anyone.

Winklevoss twins are gratified to the Hollywood team who has filmed the real truth about the founding of Facebook. The twins appeared at the premier of the movie and became the focus of attention. The movie actors were ignored by the ladies at the premier and the real characters got the attention.
Winklevoss twins have earned their MBA from Cambridge after graduating from Harvard and participated in 2008 Olympics. They finished at sixth place in rowing competition. They are looking forward to compete in next Olympics.
The twins had never thought that the facebook truth will come out in the shape of the movie. During their Harvard years they had contacted Zukerberg to develop a social network by the name of Harvard-Connection. Zukerberg delayed the development of the network intentionally as he had planned to exploit the idea himself.
Winklevoss twins filed a lawsuit against him and settled for $65 millions. Now they are planning to file another suit because they think they were underpaid as compared to the net worth of the Facebook.
Armie Hammer has played the roles of twins in the movie.
The movie has documented the real truth about the facebook and is sure to be watched in the coming decades as long as Facebook dominates the social networking. The movie has served the oldest belief that the truth comes out or wins in the end. Zukerberg will have to work hard to rebuild his public image. He is already trying to do so by way of philanthropy. He has recently donated $100 millions for school system.

Sean Parker’s View on Justin Timberlake

Sean Parker is portrayed as a sick demented backstabber with no feelings for other. Where? Well, why don’t you pres the ‘Play’ button on ‘The Social Network’, or try giving a thorough reading to ‘The Accidental Billionaires”. You’ll soon find out that Parker soon befriended Zuckerberg and hatched plans for thwarting off Eduardo Saverin (Zuckerberg’s business partner).
Anyway, media heads reached out to Sean Parker recently for a heads up on the movie. Parker was thrilled and excited about Justin Timberlake, playing his role in the film. He told that the singer reached out to him to have a closer look at the character.
Parker said, “I remember when Timberlake came to me for the first time. I told him that you won’t be getting a lot of help to play the part that Sorkin has written. I am being portrayed as a negative person, who isn’t really me in real life.”
Some people do agree that Parker is not as bad as he looks. Maybe he’s half as bad as he is in the movie? Never mind that, move on to the recent feature in Vanity Fair, where Parker’s character in the film is complex and interesting.

Michigan VS Indiana – Michigan Football 2010 Team 42-35 Win – The 2010 Michigan football schedule is available, and it looks like it is going to be an exciting seasons for the Wolverines. They have been able to put together a schedule that is desired by practically every NCAA teams. They have one of the largest stadiums in football, and have been able to create their schedule so that all of their challenging games will mostly be played at home.
So far the team is 4-0 but has yet to play any real competitive teams. The only tough team that they have faced so far is Note Dame who is hardly considered to be a powerhouse in this day and age anymore. They also beat UMass, Bowling Green, and Connecticut.
Today, Michigan will take on the 3-0 Indiana team. After the game today, they will not have another tough game from the big ten until they go on to face Michigan State. Their biggest test could come when they play Penn State toward the end of the season.
It will be interesting to see how the team looks after they have played in a few more competitive games. So far, they appear to be good but have not faced any solid competition that would force them to stretch the field. In their final game of the season they will be playing against Ohio State, who is currently ranked number 2 in the BCS standings. If they could pull out a win in that final game (assuming that Ohio State is still ranked well), they could potentially enter a high level bowl game.
Once more Michigan’s sophomore quarterback Denard Robinson was able to give his team the victory with a tossed a 42-yard pass -Michigan State got a 42-35 victory against Indiana.

Alabama vs Florida 2010: Alabama Dominates and Defeats Florida by 31-6 - Another much awaited event will happen now at the NCAA College Football. This is where a pair of FBS heavyweights and top calibre teams collide in Tuscaloosa for this weekend game match. The top ranked Alabama Crimson Tide plays and host the ranked no. 7 Florida Gators.
The game will be held live at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. You can catch your favourite team and players at exactly 8:00 pm ET.
Apparently, Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide opened the SEC game last week on the road and all they could handle from the nationally-ranked Arkansas before creating a 24-20 victory to move to 4-0 on the year. And this only marked the 28th straight regular season victory for Alabama. That game also put them a 16-game win steak at home.
Moreso, the Alabama Crimson Tide holds a 21-14 edge in the all-time series with Florida, but just a 6-5 advantage in Tuscaloosa. These two teams have met in each of the last two SEC Championship Games, with the winner going on to capture the national title (Florida in 2008 and Alabama in 2009).
On the other hand, Urban Mayer Florida Gators is no stranger to lengthy win steaks as the Gator have won 24 straight regular season affairs including 13 consecutive on the road. Flodia made light work of Kentukcy last weekend with ending score of 48-14 to move to 2-0 in conference play.
The Florida Gators likes to run the football and has a solid ground game (169.0 ypg), led by junior tailback Jeff Demps (6.9 ypc, two TDs). Burton is the backup QB, but with his output last weekend he now has seven TDs on just 11 carries.
As per predictions, the Alabama is constantly the expected winner for this match. They have passed their first test on the road last week and if this game were taking place in Gainesville, the Gators might have pulled off an upset. It will definitely be the toughest game for the Florida considering the fact the powerhouse Alabama will host the game in Tuscaloosa.
The CBS will officially give their live broadcast of the highly anticipated matchup between the Alabama vs Florida tonight. You can also catch them live by checking your local channel listings like ESPN, ABC and Versus for the availability of the game airing and updated schedule.

UPDATES:
The Alabama is leading the game having the 24 points gathered during the first two quarters. Florida is still in tact with their game plan as they leading their way to the half time.

Texas Ou Game 2010 : Oklahoma 28-20 WIN – Oklahoma was able to dominate the first half of their game against the Texas Longhorns. Luckily for Texas, a 60 yard run by DJ Monroe was able to keep the team within striking distance and only two touchdowns down at the half. Other than that one big play, Oklahoma has looked like the superior team. Defensively, they are stronger than Texas and their offense has the ability to strike at any given moment, making them a constant threat to the defenses that try to keep them in check.
Throughout the first half the Sooners have 19 first downs, while Texas has been held to only 6. Their time of possession nearly doubled that of Texas, who looked to be slowing down the longer that they stayed on the field.
The Oklahoma quarterback, Landry Jones, has done an excellent job of managing the game and ensuring that he does not turn the ball over. He has over 150 yards and two touchdowns in the first half, against what is rumored to be one of the best pass defenses in the nation, although we have not seen evidence of that today.
In order for Texas to come back they will need to rely on turnovers and big plays. They are obviously outmatched by the way that the first half of the game looked and will need to light a fire under Oklahoma if they want to come back. Both teams are strong, but Oklahoma is asserting their dominance today.
Oklahoma managed to pick up a 28-20 win over Texas.
Texas will be meeting Nebraska on October 16.

Joshua Nesbitt shook a rough start with a brilliant fourth-quarter, throwing a 9-yard touchdown pass to Correy Earls with 15 seconds left in Georgia Tech‘s 24-20 comeback win over Wake Forest on Saturday night.
Nesbitt had 6 yards rushing on 19 carries before leading the Yellow Jackets (3-2, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) on three scoring drives in the final period.
Josh Adams rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown and Brandon Pendergrass added a rushing TD for the Demon Deacons (2-3, 1-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), who nearly won with fourth-string quarterback Skylar Jones.
Ted Stachitas and Brendan Cross were injured early in the game with starter Tanner Price already sidelined.
After allowing 48, 68 and 31 points in its last three outings, Wake Forest smothered Georgia Tech‘s triple option attack until Nesbitt took over. It allowed the Yellow Jackets to avoid losing consecutive games for the first time in coach Paul Johnson’s tenure.
Nesbitt, who rushed for 72 yards and threw for 130, finally got going with a 50-yard run that set up Scott Blair’s third field goal from beyond 40 yards, cutting the deficit to 17-9.

The well known Fox News talk show host Bill O’Reilly used the word honeyfuggle on his show this past week and left the audience wondering what the word meant.
This launched a nationwide search of the meaning of the word. The word honeyfuggle means to cheat, swindle, sweet talk or to deceive by flattery.
The word was used by O’Reilly when he was telling his audience that when they wrote him on his show “The O’Reilly Factor” not to honeyfuggle him.
Search engines were blasted by the word honeyfuggle by thousands of people trying to learn the meaning of this word and tuned back into the show to find out what everyone was talking about and now everyone seems to know what honeyfuggle means.

Tuohy, Irish American mother, who adopted Michael Oher expressed his views about Americans that they are too quick to evaluate people even before knowing them.
Tuohy later adopted Oher as a homeless teenager, who later became one of the highest paid stars in the NFL.
Her story made spotlight as a book was written on her “The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game”. The book became a best-seller which was adapted to movie “The Blind Side.” The movie also became highly appreciated and got Sandra Bullock nominated for actress in leading role for playing Leigh Anne Tuohy.
Tohy said to audience in Georgia that “We’re quick to value people inaccurately, be it a co-worker at the office or those who do the landscaping around our home”.
She thought that there might be many Michael Ohers out there wanting hope and opportunity in life.

After the release of ‘The Social Network’ movie, the world has started eyeing Mark Zuckerberg as the real perpetrator, who betrayed his friends for his personal interests. Thanks to the lawsuits and the controversial plot of the film, Zuckerberg is now all zipped up and has nothing much to say these days.
While, the CEO was busy building Facebook, he needed monetary aid. The only person to lend him $18,000 was Eduardo Saverin, who later joined is as a business partner. Another con man, Sean Parker / Napster CEO steps in and befriends Zuckerberg. Getting close to the Facebook origins, you’ll find out that Eduardo was turning out to be a liability for Zuckerberg.
The innocent looking, lisper hatched plans of toppling Eduardo Saverin off the business, with Parker. In the earlier days of Facebook, the site was only open to members of the Harvard University. The then founders had made a brilliant plan of taking over the world.

One Nation Rally – Every action has a reaction to a movement, and the reaction to the ‘Tea Party’ has shown it’s head in the form of the ‘One Nation’ movement. Held on Saturday at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, the NAACP President Ben Jealous spoke about the ‘One Nation’ movement in regards to it’s relationship to the tea party, saying we’re not “the alternative to the Tea Party, we’re the antidote to the Tea Party.”
Jealous spoke about including the ‘Tea Party’ members to the rally, despite their differing view points and possible disagreements. Jealous doesn’t agree with some of the racist of extremist views of some of it’s members, and takes issue with them. Jealous claims that the ‘One Nation’ movement would prefer to see jobs for 99% of Americans rather than tax cuts for 1% of Americans. He wants the ‘One Nation’ movement to bring about a change in America, to give it’s people a better education, and more opportunities for economic growth.
There were slogans flying all over the place, from the normal to the fiery. Those on show contained the slogans: “The Left is What’s Right,” “Stop Racism Now,” We March for Hope Not Hate,” “Proud to be a Democrat,” “Stand with Obama,” “Silence GOP Lies,”"No Cuts to Social Security” and “Axis of Ignorance – Tea Party, Republicans, Fox News.”

He was appearing on his radio talk show that is called “Rick’s List.” While on the program he called “The Daily Show’s” Jon Stewart a “bigot” and took shots at a number of other political analysts and news anchors.
Almost immediately after the comments took place, MSNBC analysts took to Twitter where he said that he expected that Sanchez would be fired for making the comments. CNN didn’t want to blow the incident out of proportion, but did decide to relieve Rick of his duties at the station.
They wished him well in their goodbye statement and thanked him for his loyal service to the company. This was not the first time that Sanchez had made brash comments in a public forum and had been reprimanded for it. Once he even referred to President Barack Obama as “cotton-picking.”
CNN has not named a replacement for Sanchez, who quickly retracted his statement and corrected himself, instead calling Stewart “prejudiced.” He should have known better, really. After the previous problems that he has had with CNN and some of the comments that he has made on his program, he had to have known that he was walking on thin ice. It will be interesting to see where Sanchez goes next. FOX News would seemingly make a good home for the right winged political analysts, but there have been no reports of interest from FOX.

Players who play for the big universities expect to have games telecast almost weekly. Those playing at schools outside of the Division I rarely get a chance to show their skills to the world. However, the players at BYU will be strutting their stuff for a national TV audience tonight. The news of the BYU TV game spread across campus like a live wire.
ESPN will air the game and Cody Hoffman will get his chance to show off on national television. Hoffman was raised in a small California coastal town and was redshirted as a freshman at BYU. The wide receiver will be on the field tonight and on ESPN when they meet Utah State. When Utah State hosts the Cougars tonight, the fans at home will be excited to see the BYU TV broadcast on ESPN.
The news of the big event hitting the airwaves prompted both of Salt Lake City’s daily newspapers, the Deseret News and the Salt Lake Tribune, to seek out Hoffman for an interview. His hometown of Crescent City, California have been pining over their would-be superstar and this appearance on ESPN should garner a lot of attention from that area. Hoffman plans to approach the game as he would any other but admits that the BYU TV news has certainly been overwhelming.

Much to the glee of late nite TV fans, two of Hollywood’s most talented film actors appeared on SNL in yet another episode of “What’s Up With That?” Morgan Freeman and Ernest Borgnine subjected themselves to Keenan Thompson’s buffoonery, all for the sake of promoting the October 15th release of their new film Red. Looking at the trailers and reviews of the film though, the spy spoof looks worth the price – of admission and promotion.
What the heck kind of movie has a case like Reds? Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Richard Dreyfus, and the aforementioned Borgnine-Freeman duo? Well, an action packed and extremely whacky one in this case. A somewhat aged bunch of retired CIA operatives gone ballistic makes for a decent backdrop – add special effects, and familiar faces – presto! That’s entertainment.
If you amble over to the Red Facebook pages, you can get more info or play the Red Challenge game – snatch up some movie stills like the one below – or view other trailers like the video from Youtube at the bottom. All the hype, the stars, the guns and explosions tough, cannot compare really to the one exclusive thing Red has – 93 year old Ernest Borgnine.
Not listed in the major credits, just seening the legendary Hollywood and TV icon should be enough to inspire movie goers. Borgnine’s Wikipedia explains a little of why. 1955 to 2009, Ernest has pretty much done it all – check it out.
We leave you with one of the trailers, and Everything PR News’ recommendation on Red – a must see actually – even if for just the star power.

Michael Oher and teammate Tom Zbikowski were both fined $5,000 for incidents last week, with Oher claiming he was coming to the defense of teammate Todd Heap on the play that cost him the money.
Oher said he was stepping in to defend Heap, who was driven off the line of scrimmage against the Cleveland Browns last weekend even though the play in question has been blown dead due to a false start whistle. Oher jumped into the fray and earned the penalty for his efforts, though he made it clear he would do it all again given the chance.
“That’s my teammate. You got to have your teammate’s back,” Oher said.
Oher, of course, obtained a new level of fame following the move “The Blind Side,” which chronicled his assimilation into a white family as he went through high school and headed to college to play football. Oher comes off as a gentle giant in the film, though one that is intensely loyal, a reputation he certainly upheld in Sunday’s situation. He simply stepped in to come to the aid of a fallen teammate, which, given his background, is probably the only thing he cared about at the time.

Zenyatta improved to 19-0 in her stellar career, using her usual come-from-behind move to overtake front-running Switch in the stretch and win the $250,000 Lady’s Secret Stakes on Saturday at Hollywood Park.
The 6-year-old mare prevailed by a half-length, putting a scare into her connections and much of the crowd before rallying late under Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith.
“She seems to know where the wire is at and she likes to make it a little dramatic,” he said. “It’s just incredible.”
Trainer John Shirreffs pounded his rolled-up racing program against his chest after Zenyatta sailed across the finish line of the 1 1-16-mile race, which she won for the third straight year.
“She’s a heart-stopper in so many ways,” he said, smiling.
Zenyatta‘s exercise rider Steve Willard held his right hand over his heart, a relieved smile on his face.
“I’m sweating so much. Oh my God! It’s just fabulous,” said Dottie Ingordo Shirreffs, racing manager for owners Jerry and Ann Moss, and Shirreffs’ wife.
It was Zenyatta‘s final prep before she heads to Churchill Downs next month to take on the boys again in the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic, which she won last year.
