Texas Ou Game 2010 : Oklahoma 28-20 WIN – Oklahoma was able to dominate the first half of their game against the Texas Longhorns. Luckily for Texas, a 60 yard run by DJ Monroe was able to keep the team within striking distance and only two touchdowns down at the half. Other than that one big play, Oklahoma has looked like the superior team. Defensively, they are stronger than Texas and their offense has the ability to strike at any given moment, making them a constant threat to the defenses that try to keep them in check.
Throughout the first half the Sooners have 19 first downs, while Texas has been held to only 6. Their time of possession nearly doubled that of Texas, who looked to be slowing down the longer that they stayed on the field.
The Oklahoma quarterback, Landry Jones, has done an excellent job of managing the game and ensuring that he does not turn the ball over. He has over 150 yards and two touchdowns in the first half, against what is rumored to be one of the best pass defenses in the nation, although we have not seen evidence of that today.
In order for Texas to come back they will need to rely on turnovers and big plays. They are obviously outmatched by the way that the first half of the game looked and will need to light a fire under Oklahoma if they want to come back. Both teams are strong, but Oklahoma is asserting their dominance today.
Oklahoma managed to pick up a 28-20 win over Texas.
Texas will be meeting Nebraska on October 16.
