Players who play for the big universities expect to have games telecast almost weekly. Those playing at schools outside of the Division I rarely get a chance to show their skills to the world. However, the players at BYU will be strutting their stuff for a national TV audience tonight. The news of the BYU TV game spread across campus like a live wire.
ESPN will air the game and Cody Hoffman will get his chance to show off on national television. Hoffman was raised in a small California coastal town and was redshirted as a freshman at BYU. The wide receiver will be on the field tonight and on ESPN when they meet Utah State. When Utah State hosts the Cougars tonight, the fans at home will be excited to see the BYU TV broadcast on ESPN.
The news of the big event hitting the airwaves prompted both of Salt Lake City’s daily newspapers, the Deseret News and the Salt Lake Tribune, to seek out Hoffman for an interview. His hometown of Crescent City, California have been pining over their would-be superstar and this appearance on ESPN should garner a lot of attention from that area. Hoffman plans to approach the game as he would any other but admits that the BYU TV news has certainly been overwhelming.
