Randy Moss Press Conference

Randy Moss Press Conference, First, history has been Brett Favre back in New York for the first time since the Jets lose to a record 9-7 and missed the playoffs. Then, with Randy Moss back to Minnesota, the re-match against Darrelle Revis Moss stole the headlines. Add to the blinding lights of Monday Night Football national spotlight and suddenly this game is more like an episode of The Young and The Restless rather than a football game.
With all the coverage surrounding Favre, Revis and Moss, it’s easy to forget the most important player for the Vikings All-Pro running back Adrian Peterson. Yeah, you remember? The guy who ran a vase against opposing defenses since he entered the league in 2007. The same guy who has amassed nearly 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns in three seasons and a quarter.
“I will not disrespect to Adrian Peterson who was in South Georgia, but I wish we were playing,” Rex Ryan joked at a press conference Thursday. “In other words, is the best back in the league. “?
Ryan and the Jets defense had nothing but the highest praise for the All-Pro running back, which seems to do everything a coach, asks a high-flying ball.
“The main thing is just trying to fight against this guy. Watching film on him, he breaks tackles and runs through people. It’s fast, malfunctions and he is a big blue backs,” said outside linebacker Bryan Thomas.
There’s a hole in vulnerable outfit Peterson’s armor, even if it is large enough. Peterson struggles mightily to take the ball. Through four seasons, he has fumbled 20 times while losing about 13 of those occasions. Last year, he had seven fumbles and lost all but one of them. To his credit, he has not escaped this year.
This is something the Jets defense will zero in on, the Jets are tops in the league away / give-away with a plus-eight advantage. Five of these eight takeaways came on forced fumbles. The Jets recovered every five years.
Although it is almost impossible to stop Peterson, the Jets hope to contain it by surrounding it with defenders. Many-escaped Peterson comes to fight for more distance instead of down after initial contact.
“A guy does not do the trick,” said Ryan. “We have to get a bunch of guys out there on him and hit him with everything we have and shoot the ball, go ahead and do it all to slow it down a bit. ”
Ryan would go to say they prefer most teams throw the ball where most errors occur. But with this team, they must choose their poison. “What do you do,” asked Ryan. “[Do] you want to throw Favre or Peterson running?”
