Speaking about the new content, Griff Parry, Sky's Director of On-demand explained: "Sky Player offers an unrivalled choice of live and on demand pay TV content, making it the natural destination for online viewing.It's about providing people with the most convenient way to access the channels and programmes they enjoy to get Sky Player, you have to have a Sky subscription or subscribe to the online only service from £15 a month sky Player is the home of Sky TV online – it’s Sky, but on your computer and TV connected box. Programmes from up to 46 top channels including Sky Sports, Sky Movies, the BBC, National Geographic Channel and Disney Channel.Sky also promises more channels will be arriving on the live-streaming Sky Player service soon. Both Living and Bravo are signed up to get involved, which will add yet more ludicrously good shows, such as Sons of Anarchy and CSI. Hardcore Living fans will also be able to watch Yvette Fielding pretending ghosts exist and highly paid, beautiful doctors whinging about their love lives in Grey's Anatomy.
This could be perfect for commuters on trains with free Wi-Fi as you need no dish, long term contract or other equipment and makes for a great premium option other than the likes of regular BBC iPlayer and SeeSaw TV free offerings.Unfortunately, there still looks like little possibility of the addition of Sky HD channels to the service at this point in time, however I’m sure will come eventually and dramatically increase demand for the service.
So here we are again talking about another advancement in the TV scene and this time it’s online, on-demand TV. Subscribers to Sky’s online ‘Sky Player’ service now have access to Sky 1 in addition to the 27 live channels already available over the service – included in this being able to watch these Sky channels on your PC, Mac or though the Xbox 360 service
