This one really hits hard. I don’t know anybody who didn’t love Tim Burton’s creepy movie as a kid. In fact, I’m going to go old school and watch it tonight on VHS.
TMZ first broke the news. Click here for more on the story from them.
As a biography, William Glenn Shadix was born on April 15, 1952 in Bessemer, Alabama. He was openly gay. For his collegiate years he went to Birmingham-Southern, and then relocated to NYC. After living some time in New York he relocated again, this time to Hollywood, California. He rose to fame after landing a role in ‘Beetlejuice,’ which his agent advised him to pass up. Fortunately Shadix ignored his agent’s misinformed advice. During filming for the movie Burton and Shadix struck up a friendship, which resulted in them making two more films together – ‘The Nighmare Before Christmas’ and ‘Planet of the Apes’. He has appeared in numerous films and television shows – follow this link to learn about his other roles. In winter of 2008 his Queen Anne Victorian home was burnt to ashes in a fire. About the fire he sadly said, “I have lost my dream.” He died on September 7, 2010.
