The spectators of HBO have been able to view a great movie named The Informant. The movie was shown on HBO this Saturday night. The movie is basically about the life of Mark Whitacre. The man who has acted as Mark Whitacre in the movie is Matt Damon. The acting of Matt was highly appreciated. The movie basically shows the life of Mark when he told the FBI about some international price fixing scheme.
Mark got famous when he helped out the FBI in the early nineties. He is a highly educated person and he is a Ph.D. He became the president of the bio products division for ADM. In the year 1992 he told the FBI that he and some of his colleagues were involved in price fixing. After some time he collected some proof for the investigation teams and finally ADM had to settle for a hundred million dollars due to the federal charges. The company also had to pay a lot of money to their customers.
Mark Whitacre was sent to the jail for more than ten years but he was set free earlier due to his very good behavior. He had made a good reputation among the FBI agents. That’s the reason why a number of FBI agents tried to get a presidential pardon for him so that he may not have to stay in jail. The Informant is a perfect movie in order to know the real life of Mark and all the challenges he had to face in order to bring the truth in front of the public.
