The Conroe Independent School District underwent a huge amount of maintenance and improvement work in construction in the summer this year and now the school is welcoming back its students in a much improved environment.
The total amount spent on the construction work is $47million from which more than half the amount was spent on improving the entrances of 7 campuses. By improving the entrances the Conroe ISD means that they installed higher efficiency security and monitoring systems so that they know better exactly who is entering the campuses. This is definitely a great requirement nowadays when security risks have increased to a great deal.
Among other construction activities the roofs of many classrooms in many campuses were repaired and a huge amount of security measures were improved in overall campuses. These security measures include video cameras, intercoms, burglary systems, fire alarms and security doors. These security measures of course mean greater security for the students and safety of the campuses.
Apart from that the campuses also received a girls’ softball standard upgrade in which the standard of all the softball courts was brought to the same in every campus. The air handling systems and the chiller systems of almost all campuses was also expanded and improved. There is also a new system installed in the HVAC systems that tell the exact power consumption per hour. This reading is in real time and is made to help the school authorities know exactly how much energy they are consuming. This is a very good way to keep track of energy consumption and improve as possible.
