Martha S Vineyard, President Obama did today is another reason for the Senate to pass a bill making it easier for small business owners to borrow money – even though the Senate also is on vacation.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, create two of every three new jobs in this country,” Obama said at the White House. “They need help and if we want this economy to create more jobs, faster, we must help them.”

Obama also cited new evidence that unemployment may be increasing again, including a new U.S. report Labor Department that unemployment claims have reached a maximum of nine months. That kind of news “requires us to be with small business men and women who are trying to grow their businesses and workers to make payroll and new hire,” said Obama.

Not only the bill that the loans easier, said Obama, which also includes tax breaks for owners of small businesses.

As it has done in recent days, Obama again criticized Republicans – “a minority party – to block the bill in the Senate, calling it” pure politics. ” “There are times when good people disagree in good faith,” said Obama. “But this is not one of those moments.”

Shortly after the speech, Obama addressed the Air Force One, flying to Martha’s Vineyard, where he will spend about ten days.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., And other Republicans said they have held the bill because the Democratic leadership refused to allow the proposed changes.

The Senate is in session, but is scheduled for small business loan when he returns from its recess – 13 September.
In a statement, McConnell said the Senate Democratic leaders repeatedly aside the bill because it “was not a priority for them – until they realized they had nothing to talk about when they go home in August .
Republicans also said the biggest problem with the economy is the lack of a lending program, but Obama’s policies.

“Jump this month in jobless claims may have surprised some economists, but it is no surprise that American families are struggling to match Obama’s economy,” said Republican Party Chairman Michael Steele.
