Date and origin of the first device of the disputed status as a musical instrument dates back as 67000 years; artifacts common to early flute date back as far as it is about 37000 years. However, most historians consider defining a specific time of musical invention of paper, which will be impossible because of the subjectivity of the definition.
Musical instruments, developed independently in many populated regions of the world. Nevertheless, the contact between civilizations, as a result of rapid dissemination and adaptation of most instruments in places far from their origin. In the Middle Ages, the documents from Mesopotamia, can be found in the Malay Archipelago, and the Europeans have played instruments from North Africa. Development in the Americas occurred at a slower pace, but the cultures of North, Central and South America common musical instruments.
