Mandy Minella  did not manage to come up against one of the Williams sisters and Venus Williams displayed a tremendous performance against Mandy Minella of Luxembourg to reach the fourth round of the US Open.

While Mandy Minella lost to Venus Williams 2-6,1-6 on Friday and 185th ranked qualifier Mandy Minella was did not prove herself a real match for Venus Williams despite the fact the Venus Williams entered the court after two month’s absence but it seemed his sprained left kneecap did not bother her a lot while she enters the fourth round of the coveted championship for 12th time in 12 trips.

Mandy Minella entered U.S Open with a 0-5 career record and she defeated Tsvetana Pironkova ranked 34 and Polona Hercog ranked 47 to come up against Venus Williams.

Venus very honestly confessed after the match that she did not get any idea how Mandy Minella played the game.

While Mandy Minella’s serve was broken in the opening game it was a repeated action for next five times and when Mandy Minella did manage to held serve to trail 4-1 during the second set she waved her arms to audience in a mock celebration after the 20 point game that has four break points.

Leaving behind Mandy Minella’s mock celebrations, Venus Williams is the only woman to reach at least the fourth round of four Grand Slam Tournaments. She will meet Shahar Peer of Israel in the fourth round.
