The 19th Wife

The 19th Wife:Nineteenth wife Lifetime original movie based on the novel of the same name by David Ebershoff. This is a story about the murder in the community Morman and the issue of polygamy is the background. Chyler Leigh, Patricia Wettig and Matt Czuchry head an impressive cast that brings life and credibility to this fascinating history of murder and faith.

Murders story begins with a woman accused of killing her husband. BeckyLyn (Wettig) was the 19th wife of a polygamist Sawyer Scott (Karl Pruner). He had one child in BeckyLyn, and his name is Jordan (Czuchry). When he was a teenager, Jordan was excommunicated from the faith and sent to live on it in the secular world.

best friend from childhood in the Jordan Queenie (Leigh), who lives in the community with her husband Hiram (Jeff Hephner) and their little daughter. Jordan Queenie notify the arrest of his mother and asks him to come and help her. He returned to the community, but he does so reluctantly.

BeckyLyn is under the control of the Prophet (Patrick Garrow). She believes him to be infallible and is ready to do whatever he thinks best. In addition, she believes, in its view, its role as a woman, even though it means sharing her husband, and the rejection of her child.

Queenie loves her husband and child, but she did not want to share their husband with other wives, and she did not want her daughter raised her to be more than one wife. Her conflict comes to how to get her husband to abandon their city and their faith to escape with her.

Polygamy issue, and that blind faith makes this above average film entertainment value. It’s interesting to watch from beginning to end, not only because the “whodunit” factor, but also because of religious implications. Plus cast strikes the right tone and intensity of natural charm.

Czuchry, who is the favorite, a good wife, it is cast as the dirty Jordan. He has a natural charm about him, and he allows so easy going manner seep into the character. Lee is a strong and sympathetic as Queenie. She and submit Czuchry couples who are best friends, not lovers. Queenie is entirely devoted to her husband and Jordan takes it.

Wettig strikes the right chord between religious fanaticism and maternal love. Her faith is everything to her, but you never doubt BeckyLyn loves his son. Also impressive Alex Speed who plays a half-sister of Jordan. Quick character is only 15, but it represents a promising sophistication combined with the natural vulnerability.

This is stated in the film that is “community” an offshoot Mormon faith, but politicians polygamy laid at the feet of Mormon patriarch Brigham Young. If polygamy being in the headlines recently is a very timely movie.

Based on the heels of Bond last month, Silence with Kim Raver, is another very good story portrayed in life, like the original film. Glory to those who are behind making this film and Lifetime for the potential.
