Wong Mew Choo vs Saina Nehwal

Saina Nehwal is the new trend setter in Indian sports as the badminton player has been setting new benchmarks in the ongoing Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. She only stands one step shy of another achievement.

Saina is set to become the first ever Indian shuttler to win gold at the Commonwealth Games when she pits her wits against world number one Wong Mew Choo from Malaysia in the finals of the women’s singles later today.

Ranked as the world's third best player, Saina is the overwhelming favourite for today's match as she boasts of a super impressive record of 4-0 against Wong in head-to-head matches.

For a player who has won back-to-back titles in Chennai, Singapore and Indonesia, perhaps this is a purple patch for her. It seems as if the Indian badminton player is riding a wave-crest that has seen her demolish all her opponents at the CWG in New Delhi so far.

But in the semi-finals of the competition, Saina was given a scare by world number 19 as she stretched Nehwal to 3 games in the team event. Nevertheless, Saina is confident before the final and will be backed by a vociferous crown in Delhi later today.

Wong is also confident ahead of the match despite not having the home advantage who opined that although the home crowd will play its part in the game, the fact that she ran Saina very close in the team event gives her a moral boost ahead of the all important clash today. Wong hopes that it will be her day today after 4 straight defeats at the hands of the world number 3.

Wong won the 2009 Super Series Master and is best known for her remarkable endurance and exceptional stamina.

Both participants of the final rely on their rallies and net game and it will be very hard to draw the line between them.

Perhaps it will come down to the grit and determination only which may decide today's winner. Saina will give it her best shot as she is aware of her opponent’s strengths and is confident of finding a way around her opponent once again.

Saina has already beaten Wong on four occasions this year - at the Asian Championships in April, at the final of Indian Open, in the first round of Singapore Super Series Masters and most recently at the team event in the Commonwealth Games, New Delhi.

But Saina will be aware of her jinx while playing in India as she has never won a major title on home soil. However, she will be hoping to break this run as she vying for gold at the CWG.

Perhaps it is the pressure of the home crowd that plays on her nerves as it was evident at the 2009 World Championships in Hyderabad when she lost in the quarter-finals of the competition.

Today, she gets her shot at redemption. However, her opponent is not going to be a pushover as Wong is seeking a revenge for 4 straight defeats against the Indian hotshot.

Ahead of this match, Saina claimed that this will be the biggest match of her career. She also emphasized that she will not be under any pressure while playing in front of her home crowd and will not let anything get the better of her in today’s match.

Saina has also said that falling at the final hurdle will be a disappointment of the highest order and anything less than a win will never be satisfying.

Saina has said that there is little drift inside the hall, where the game will be played but she is used to it now and can even use it to her advantage against the Malaysian.

Proton Malaysia Proton Inspira Car

SUBANG: National carmaker Proton Holdings Bhd will release its new model, the Inspira, which will be cruising down Malaysian roads from Nov 10.

Deriving its name from the Bahasa Malaysia word “inspirasi” (inspiration), Proton said that the 1.8-litre model will be priced at RM79,880 while its 2.0-litre counterpart at RM95,000.

However, Proton said that these prices were still “tentative”, and may be subject to change when the the car is officially unveiled.

The car was launched today at Proton's Centre of Service Excellence. The car's full body was not completely revealed. Only the front portion of the car was displayed.

Proton Holdings managing director Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamad Tahir said that the car was the product of an “old revisit” with the Mitsubishi Manufacturing Corporation (MMC).

Proton also announced that it would stop churning out its Waja model after 10 years of production. However, Syed Zainal said that the Inspira was not meant to fill the vacuum left by the omission of the Waja.

“When you change your lifestyle, you want to change your car to a better one, so we need to offer a better car,” said Syed Zainal.

“Proton will continue to evolve. Customers will grow in terms of demand, their pockets will grow bigger and they will want to live a better lifestyle.”

Syed Zainal also said that the Inspira was a localised version of the Mitsubishi Lancer, and was built according to Malaysian expectations.

Lancer owners concerned

Prior to the car's soft launch, many expressed scepticism with the Inspira. In various discussion forums over the Internet, they argued that the car's make is no different from the Lancer.

Lancer owners are also concerned that the Proton Inspira will affect the after-sales value of their cars, devaluing it in the process.

It is a sentiment that Syed Zanial does not agree with, although he declined to comment on the observations.

"It's not for me to answer. I will let Mitsubishi answer that," he said, adding that it was a win-win situation for all parties involved.

Syed Zainal also expects to launch the Inspira to other markets in the region, but said that Proton would concentrate on stabilising it three to six months after its initial release.

He hoped to see sales of 1,600 units a month, saying it was a realistic expection.

He said that Proton's collaboration with Mitsubishi in designing the Inspira was cheaper than with other OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) in the market.

He added that that Proton spent less than RM350 million in developing the car, or half that of normal car models.

The Inspira is open for booking at a RM1,000 deposit from today until Nov 15. Those who place their orders during this period would enjoy a two-year servicing package for free.

Lynn Hung On Aaron Kwok Birthday

Aaron Kwok silently consents that he wants to spend his birthday with his girlfriend

If superstar Aaron Kwok had a choice, he wouldn't be working on his birthday.

Instead, he would celebrate his 45th birthday with the loves of his life - his mother and girlfriend Lynn Hung.

During his appearance as an ambassador for UNICEF, when asked if he has any wish for his upcoming big day, Aaron expressed that he would like to take a day off but there are work plans.

He also nodded silently in consent when asked if he would have wanted to spend the day with his two leading ladies.

Aaron would be working alongside Chow Yun-Fat and Donnie Yen in the upcoming 3D movie Havoc in Heaven next month. He is reportedly earning only HKD8 million ($1.8million), a much lesser figure compared to his co-stars.

When questioned, the star dismissed the news as inaccurate. He also commented that every actor has his own price and would not mind if the role is challenging.

Saina Wins CWG Gold Medal

NEW DELHI: Ace Indian shuttler and world No 3, Saina Nehwal won 38th gold for India by beating Malaysia's Mew Choo Wong in the women's singles final at the Commonwealth Games on Thursday.

With the reult, India pipped England to grab the second spot in the medals tally.

Saina won the final 21-19, 23-21, 21-13 at the Siri Fort Complex.

With the win, world number three Saina became the nation's first woman shuttler to win a Commonwealth Games gold.

Top seed Saina in the event, who had been in red-hot form this year, winning three titles - India Open, Singapore Superseries and Indonesian Superseries - rose to the occasion.

Saina had beaten Wong at the Asian Championship in April, Indian Open final in June, Singapore Superseries in first round in June and at the team event of the Commonwealth Games, and again repeated her feat in the final.

Cutting back to the city, Krishna (Jr NTR) is a dynamic chap from a rich family and is in love with Indu. When Prakash Raj tried to arrange Bhoomi marriage with Ajay, she says that she’s in love in another one. Bhoomi then approaches Indu and requests Krish act like his boyfriend and Indu convinces NTR to act like Bhoomi’s boyfriend. And when NTR goes to the village to set things right, he discovers that Indu and Bhoomi come from same family.  The movie encapsulates how Krish unites Srihari and Prakash Raj and with whom he enters wedlock.

UFO New York Video

NEW YORK — A UFO, with three aliens on it, was spotted over New York’s West Side today!

A mysterious shiny object floating high over Manhattan West Side set off a flurry of reports Wednesday that a UFO was flying over the city.   The reports turned out to be true – confirmed by the Federal government.

Police and the FAA said they began getting flooded with calls starting at 1:30 p.m. from people reporting a silvery object hovering high over Chelsea. Several residents said they not only saw the UFO, but they also saw three aliens in the “pilot seats” of the UFO.

“You can see them clearly.  They were blue.  They had big eyes and they seemed to be smiling,” said Anne Jarmain of Chelsea.  “It was definitely a UFO,” said Dan Lukas of the West Village.  “It wasn’t a plane or a helicopter or a balloon.  We all saw it.  It was a UFO!”

The UFO  wast floating approximately 5,000 feet above 23th St. and Eighth Ave., where dozens of people gathered late in the afternoon to catch a glimpse.  Some residents joked that they saw the UFO suck Republican gubernatorial candidate, Carl Paladino into the base of the ship.”

“It hovered for a while, then it disappeared in a flash.  It was so cool,” said Carlo Torrino of Dyker Heights. ‘

Many residents were scared, thinking that the city was under attack.

Not long after the first sightings, messages began appearing on Twitter linking to a month-old press release announcing the publication of a book by a retired NORAD officer predicting that UFOs would buzz the earth’s major cities on Oct. 13.

The Federal Aviation Administration said it received several calls to its operations center.  After carefully reviewing the data, the FAA would not make a comment, though insiders say that they confirmed that it was in fact a UFO – one that they had been tracking for weeks.

Law enforcement sources did not want to release information to the public, but WWN found out from insider sources that it was a UFO and that President Obama ordered it to be shot down.  It was shot down this evening over the Atlantic Ocean – two hundred miles east of Manhattan.
