Rick Sanchez Jon Stewart

Well, that was fast: Rick Sanchez’s sharp tongue has driven the outspoken political pundit out of a cozy job.

On Friday, CNN fired anchor Rick Sanchez following a radio rant Thursday night, during which he called TV rival Jon Stewart a “bigot,” blamed CNN brass for discrimination against him, and insinuated that the media industry is controlled by “Jews.”

The network announced Sanchez’s dismissal in a statement issued this evening:

“Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company. We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well,“ the statement read.

During a 55-minute interview on Sirius Satellite’s Pete Dominick Show, Sanchez hit back at being made fun of constantly on the hit Comedy Central series The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.

Sanchez was supposed to be promoting his new book Conventional Idiocy, but instead spent a lot of time talking about race, media balance, objectivity, and of course, Jon Stewart.

“I think to some extent Jon Stewart and [Stephen] Colbert are the same way. I think Jon Stewart’s a bigot,” he said. “I think he looks at the world through, his mom, who was a school teacher, and his dad, who was a physicist or something like that. Great, I’m so happy that he grew up in a suburban middle class New Jersey home with everything you could ever imagine.”

Sanchez also mocked the suggestion that Jews are a minority. Stewart is Jewish.

“Yeah,” Sanchez retorted sarcastically at Dominick’s suggestion that as a Jew Jon may also be familiar with oppression. “Very powerless people… [snickers] He’s such a minority, I mean, you know [sarcastically]… Please, what are you kidding? … I’m telling you that everybody who runs CNN is a lot like Stewart, and a lot of people who run all the other networks are a lot like Stewart, and to imply that somehow they — the people in this country who are Jewish — are an oppressed minority? Yeah.”

The network will broadcast CNN Newsroom in Sanchez’s 3PM-5PM timeslot. for the foreseeable future.

Eduardo Saverin

Everyone knows of Mark Zuckerberg, who's credited with the founding of Facebook. But little is known of his co-founder and counterpart (both intellectual and financial), Eduardo Saverin. Played by Andrew Garfield (soon to be the next Spider-Man) in 'The Social Network,' Saverin is depicted as the bank behind the brains. We initially felt that he got screwed over, but through this research, we discovered that he still owns five percent of Facebook, and is a billionaire. We stopped feeling bad for him.

A quick search turns up many cash-related results. Since Saverin is under a legal order to keep mum on details of the Facebook settlement, it's tough to find a peep from him online, or even an article. Only one interview result comes up, but when you click on it, it takes you to another url. Strange to say the least. We're calling conspiracy.

Honeyfuggle Definition

What IS Honeyfuggle?:Honeyfuggle 19th century that a word has been used daily. Now, it’s gone. Nobody uses that word now. Honeyfuggle by flattery or sweet things means to deceive. Such as salespeople who work on commission, when they know that your ass looks huge in the genus. Or your husband when he knows he is bad and your good graces he is trying to bring back.
His last public word format Syracuse Herald in 1934 where President Roosevelt was in “the price honeyfuggler.”
Fugl end for girls 20 and 30 in “f” word used to refer to. Clearly the word was something to do with disappearance.

Rick Sanchez Fired

CNN released this statement today:

“Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company. We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well.“

They will broadcast CNN Newsroom from 3-5pm for the foreseeable future.

Here’s more from the story earlier today:

CNN’s Rick Sanchez is not happy with being made fun of constantly on The Daily Show and Colbert Report. It is from this jumping off point that he absolutely unleashed on Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, and at times his own network, on Pete Dominick’s satellite radio show yesterday.

The big takeaway – Sanchez calls Stewart “a bigot,” then walks it back a bit, and he implies CNN is run by Jews.

Dominick was not just a radio show host – he is a CNN contributor who has a regular gig on John King, USA (more on that below), and he formerly was the warm up comic at The Daily Show. Which is why when Sanchez says “I think Jon Stewart’s a bigot” early in the interview, Dominick pushed back:

Dominick: How is he a bigot?
Sanchez: I think he looks at the world through, his mom, who was a school teacher, and his dad, who was a physicist or something like that. Great, I’m so happy that he grew up in a suburban middle class New Jersey home with everything you could ever imagine.
Dominick: What group is he bigoted towards?
Sanchez: Everybody else who’s not like him. Look at his show, I mean, what does he surround himself with?
